Rain World
Rain World
Just my own little Rain World fellas which most are from a small project I've been working on alone since 2019! Downpour caused me to have intrest in this again, so currently I'm set on finishing their story!

Basic Ancient Info
This bit of information shows how I think of Ancients, their cultures, their ideas, and The Great Cycle. This section will differ to others view of Rain World, so some things only apply to my perceived version of Rain World. Do NOT take my ideas as canon as they are only my headcannons of the game.
The Great Problem was the issue of not being able to die permanantly, where everything is stuck in a loop of life and death. How the cycle works is that when someone fully dies, the world continues on, and the once dead being wakes up in the next time cycle as if nothing ever happened to their body, except they and every witness to said death has the memories of said death. The only known confirmed way to escape the Main Cycle is by jumping into the void sea and letting your body disintigrate into it. Even then, that way wasn't 100% as some Ancients would become an echo, forced into sitting idly as the world passes around them because they were too involved in the five natural urges, their ego was too big, or they were too attached to the world.
Rain World's Ancients were at the top of everything, having a firm grasp on anything and everything they could find. Ancients could manipulate creatures, alter plants, and use technology to do many things, including using said technology to solve problems for them. This is because the Ancients were desperate to find a solution to The Main Cycle/The Great Problem. Due to being stuck in The Main Cycle, the Ancients did everything they could to get out of it, even creating and living on top of their purposed organism super computers called iterators. They made Iterators mainly to solve their problem for them, but some iterators were created for entertainment or for knowledge storage. Due to time passing, and the Ancients impatience growing more and more, all of them eventually decided to leave the world for good by jumping into the void sea and abandon everything, making an event known mainly as the Mass Ascension.

Warnings:
Isolation and abuse.
Most Ancients were very reliant on tradition, and were very considerate of where they placed their iterators, but for Group Alpha's local group, this tradition was shattered and lost to time. The Ancients of Group Alpha placed eight iterator structures in close proximity to each other for a multitude of reasosns. One of the reasons was so that the Ancients could cross a bridge easily to get to each structure, and to visit other Ancients. They also did this so that it was easier to talk to other prime administrators of the iterators, hold meetings, and have it so that if an Ancients ideas didn't match with the iterator they lived on, they could move to another iterator easily.
The Ancients of Group Alpha placed Group Alpha so far from the outer world because they wanted Group Alpha to focus more on The Great Problem, and less with talking to other iterators in the network. To make sure Group Alpha wouldn't contact anyone from outside, they made it so that Group Alpha physically couldn't contact anybody nor anyone could contact Group Alpha, and isolated Group Alpha from everyone so that nobody could know of the local group.
Overall, the Ancients of Group Alpha were strict, and wanted their iterator group to be the first to find the solution. This did not end up working in their favor though, as when the Mass Ascension happened, the Ancients of Group Alpha left with them, group by group, until none were left of Group Alpha.

Basic Iterator Info
This bit of information shows how I think of Iterators, a bit of how they function, Saint Spoilers, and The Great Cycle.
Iterators are exempt from this, as Ancients built them to only guide others to ascension, hence why Iterators are stuck in boxes locked inside themselves, and have many taboos to prevent self destruction/ascension. The only way to get an iterator to ascend is if the puppet falls into the void sea, or a specific small green creature comes along to ascend them.
Iterators are purposed organism super computers which created by the Ancients to solve The Great Problem/The Main Cycle, but also sometimes were created to store information, or provide entertainment. Each Iterator has a Prime Administrator who would usually speak to them on the regular to track the Iterators progress on The Great Problem. Alongside this, due to Iterators using water to breathe, it's caused the rain to become heavier and heavier, creating destructive rains near iterators structures. Due to the crushing rains, it caused the Ancients to live on top of the Iterators structures to avoid it, causing each iterator to have a city.
Due to time passing, the Ancients grew impatient that no solution was found yet and eventually they all Mass Ascended, leaving Iterators to solve The Great Problem for no reason, other than thats what they were purposed to do, and to chat with each other until communications eventually break down.
Iterators are giant living buildings that have their concious stored in their puppet, while the rest of them, their structure, is a necessary extension of them that helps their thoughts flow freely. Without their structure, Iterators are not able to think properly, and are unable to do anything other than look around, read pearls sometimes, and talk if they have the proper tools to keep their puppet somewhat functioning (Except if an Iterator is ascended).
After the Mass Ascension, an Iterator by the name Sliver of Straw foud the solution, but when investigated, it was found out that Sliver was confirmed dead, so it remains a mystery on if Iterators can ascend, and if Sliver of Straw really found the solution.

Most Ancients were very reliant on tradition, and were very considerate of where they placed their iterators, but for Group Alpha's local group, this tradition was shattered and lost to time. The Ancients of Group Alpha placed eight iterator sGroup Alphas Iterators quickly fall out of what is considered normal for iterators, even more so being extremely unsafe due to their placement, and how certain structures are made to accomodate for how close the local group is to each other. Group Alpha's local area contains 8 Iterators placed closely together by the Ancients of Group Alpha, and were placed near the edge of an ocean so the iterators had a permanant source of water. How Group Alpha is alive is through the functions of the Pump Station which allows each iterator to breathe regularly, and the Great Basins, which allow a backup in case of Pump Station failing to do it's job as well as functioning as a way to clean slag buildup forcefully. This slag buildup ends up falling into Toxic Marsh, which ended up as a toxic wasteland due to the high concentrations.
The reason that no Iterators have talked about Group Alpha or their unsafe placement is because of the Ancients of Group Alpha, who did everything in their power to isolate Group Alpha from the world. They suceeeded in this to the point that Group Alpha didn't know that other Iterators outside of their local group existed, as they thought they were completely alone. This changed long after the Mass Ascension when Thirteen Elder Stories, Group Alpha's senior, got the Triple Affirmative message. During the message, Storied found out that other Iterators existed, and told his local group. Many of the Iterators of Group Alpha came to the conclusion that many outside Iterators are gone, and that they have to find the solution themselves.
Due to secrets hidden from Group Alpha, a hybrid of everything, in the base form of a Slugcat, knocked down one of their towers, which caused voices to come through in the radio waves.

Basic Iterator Info
This bit of information shows how I think of Slugcats. Do NOT take my ideas as canon as they are only my headcannons of the game.
Slugcats are decendants of purposed organisms that vary from color to color, slugcat to slugcat, and subspecies to subspecies. Most of them are descendants of pipe cleaner organisms, while others come from more rodent heritage, and others come from more snail heritage. Rgardless of origins and when they started evolving, Slugcats ended up with more catlike appearances while also having slug-like qualities to them. Slugcats are often seen as rodents, or sometimes pests which is why it's strange for iterators like Seven Red Suns to get attached to them, and also why they are the most commonly tested on species for Iterators. Despite being percieved as rodents, Slugcats should not be underestimated, as most are quite smart and can be overpowering by themselves. Even more so if someone poses a threat to their colony, as a whole group will come in to the slugcat, or slugpups defense.
Slugcat Colonies: To be written...
About
Slugcats are very rare regarding where Group Alpha resides, despite this, life will find a way to sprout in. A specific subspecies of Slugcat resides where Group Alpha's territory is, namely in Unkempt Forest, where Thierteen Elder Stories structure lies.
This slugcats is known as the Forest Slugcat as they specifically evolved to lie in forests. What makes them different from normal Slugcats is that they have longer and heavier tails to help balance on tree branches and to counteract the weight when on trees, long sharp claws to help dig into tree bark and hold a steady firm grip, long bunny-like ears to catch quiet sounds to watch out for predators, and longer muzzles to help sniff out certain smells to make up for how dark Unkempt forest can be. Savior is a prime example of this subspecies.
Other than the forest subspecies, there are hardly any Slugcats present in Group Alpha's territory. The Slugcats that did come by are rare one in a million chances, whether it be due to unfortunate circumstances, or for purely traveling.
