The story unfolds in a secluded galaxy where various star systems were once connected through special pathways allowing fast travel called Star Roads. These roads ended being destroyed after a long and violent war that went on for many years. This left the systems isolated from each other, no longer connected. Now that the fear and hostility among the galaxy's inhabitants have eased and peace has returned, a fresh era of exploration has begun. Many are now striving to rediscover the galaxy and start anew by venturing among the stars. However, greater forces are planning their next moves and the future is still uncertain.
⭐Specific terms:
The Denizens:
Name given to all mortal species inhabiting the diverse planets of the galaxy.
The Outereach:
A cosmic expanse enveloping the galaxy and mysterious realm comprised of enigmatic dark matter. This obscure mass, existing since the dawn of the universe, seemingly harbors a consciousness beyond the grasp of all the others galactic lifeforms. Its purpose remains elusive, defying comprehension. Despite multiple attempts, traversing this expanse has proven impossible, with countless expeditions and vessels vanishing without a trace. Those fortunate enough to return from its depths emerged fundamentally altered. The Outerreach is also the birthground of the Demons.
The Demons:
Born from fragments of the Outreach, they possess an inherently chaotic nature and lack a unified authority, instead embracing individualism. Each Demon pursues their own self-interest, adhering solely to the law of the strongest. Many among them often cause chaos for their personal amusement or to amass power.
Demons adapt to their surroundings, gaining distinct abilities based on their environment. They can seamlessly fuse with people or objects by consuming and assimilating them to amplify their power. The weakest Demons can be tamed through pacts and become loyal and devoted companions. Other stronger one can obtain immense strength and even a cult and become true deities.
The Novaborns:
The Novaborns are cosmic beings born only a few million years ago from the Primal Star. They spent a considerable amount of time searching for meaning in their existence and their place in the universe. Operating within a well-defined hierarchy, they seek to establish harmony across the galaxy by slaughtering Demons, and for some of them, meddling in the affairs of the mortals. Though the vast majority of them remain in an immobile slumber-like state to save up energy and waiting for the right moment to awake. Additionally, they are said to have created the first Star Roads and many powerful artifacts used by the Denizens. The Novaborns are worshiped on some system but despised on others.

A distant, elusive realm (a pseudo-dimension nestled between the first two strings of reality, making it nearly impossible for ordinary people to access) where the dreams of the galaxy's denizens manifest as bubbles. Permanently shrouded in a blue night and coldness that makes you drowsy, this place is said to gradually drive any living organic being slowly crazy, partially due to having a very distorted and insubstantial flow of time. Since it's situated really close to the Outerreach demons often infiltrate dream and nightmares causing mayhems.
The beings known as "Gods" are born from the rationalization of abstract concepts perceived by the Denizens. They require their faith to exist and tend to change their appearances depending on how they are perceived by them. As a result, they may inherit some of the Denizens' worst traits. The Gods generally do not appreciate the Novaborns and their overwhelming influence on mortals.
A small planet composed primarily of large islands, it enjoys a warm, temperate climate year-round, thanks to being constantly bathed in a unique cosmic current. Because of this, the planet excels in exporting a wide variety of crops, rare and refined ingredients, and luxurious artisan goods. During the war, it became a strategic target. Many of its cities, farmlands, and infrastructures were devastated. In a desperate act of self-preservation, the system's inhabitants sabotaged their own star road, cutting themselves off from the rest of the galaxy. This isolation lasted for several years, until the star road was finally repaired near the war’s end. However, it didn't preserve them from rogue pillaging from desperate vessels sailing on cosmic currents.

Residents of the Brink Star system, specifically from the planet Immernok, which is situated at the edge of the galaxy, have always been more isolated from the other systems. This isolation is due to the planet's proximity to the Outerreach, making travel there perilous. As a result, Immernok is one of the few places where a multitude of isolated traditions and minor gods still persist. Every six months, due to its revolution, the planet enters the Outerreach (referred to as "the Night" by its inhabitants) rendering the entire planet extremely dangerous and filled with eldritch and demonic presences. During this time, residents are forced to remain cloistered indoors, relying on artificial starlight for safety. The residents of this system slowly ended up becoming one with the Night instead of fighting it, using and worshiping it to survive and accepting to become one with the laws of nature and the universe.
One of the closest planets to the Primal Star, situated at the edge of the Radiance. It is populated by the Heavenlies, the result of an ancient "experiment" by the Novaborn, who selected representatives from various species across the galaxy to wield fragments of their power and access some of their technology thousands of years ago. Under this influence, the Heavenlies gradually evolved, taking on a different appearance from their original species. Worship of the Novaborn, strict adherence to hierarchy, and a deep-seated hatred for anything related to the Outereach are ingrained in their culture. They believe they are chosen to restore order and peace to the galaxy.
Name given to the center of the galaxy, the numerous stars, high temperature, abundant starlight radiation and density of the cosmic curents emanating from the Primal Star makes it really inhospitable for any living beings asside of the Novaborns who slumbers here.
A small mechanical planet created by the goddess of time, whose rotation and revolution dictate the standard universal galactic time. This time system is primarily used by denizens when in outer space but also for trades, diplomacy, long range communications and news broadcasts. The planet is mostly inhabited by automatons who manage its functions, along with a few rare, devoted followers of the goddess who have earned their place there. It is strictly forbidden for any other living beings to enter.
