||Environment||

Environment: An expanse of steep hills spotted with broad leafed trees and shrubbery.

Significant Spots:
The Fallen Tree: A thick fallen tree that lays on the east of Hillclan territory. It's hollow, surrounded by shrubbery, and blanketed in ferns and mushrooms. Is a pretty good place for hunting squirrels and mice, but it's known to be a hangout place for raccoons as well.
Badger Burrow Place: north to Hillclan camp is a bunch of badger burrows. The cats steer clear of that area for hunting, or for any reason. Badgers aren't always there, but badger families have been known to settle there in the past.
Steep Drop: Southeast of Hillclan territory is a hill that ends abruptly into a steep cliff. It's also the tallest hill, and when standing ontop of it you can see the entirity of all the territories.
Dandelion Place: South of camp is a bed of dandelion and clover in the valley of two hills. It's a good place for hunting, but also for sunbathing and collecting flowers.
The Bone Tree: (birch tree): A colossal dead birch tree directly east of camp. The tree is considered sacred to Hillclan. They believe it is another connection to Starclan, similar to the Water Willow. It is also said to be the burial site of the founder of Hillclan.
Birch Forest: Westmost of Hillclan territory is a dense birch forest. An excellent place for hunting.

||Camp||

Camp:
The camp is set to the west of the territory, between the vally of two large hills. The clan has made burrows into the sides of the hills, but some parts of camp are still in open air.
Warriors Den: A hollow dug into the side of a hill. Beds are made of dried grasses and moss.
Apprentices Den: Resides within an area covered in shrubbery. Cats make bedding out of moss and dried grasses.
Medicine Cat Den: A rocky cave that lies in the side of a hill. Indents in the walls are used to hold herbs. The beds are made from moss and dried reeds.
Leader's Den: A hollow dug under the clan meeting hill. The inside is lined with mosses and dried grass. The walls and edges of the hollow are studded with the bone hoards of past and current leaders.
Clan Meeting Place: On the top of one of the smaller hills that dot the clan. A thick, dead tree branch is stuck deep in the ground to mark it. The leader and deputy sit on the top of the hill by the tree branch, and the cats listen from the ground.

Other clan areas:

Rot place: where bone catches go. If a cat wants to keep the bones of a particular piece of freshkill, but all the flesh hasn't been eaten/rotted off, they place it in the rot place to wait for the flesh to rot off. The Rot Place is a grassless flat area outside of the clan that receives much sun throughout the day, quickly rotting lingering flesh on bones.

Clan Culture
General:
Hillclan cats are ambitious, loyal, and noble. They value strength and determination. They believe cats should always be reaching to become their best self, and will do anything to help clanmate do this. Hillclan cats believe in community and honest communication, and are definitely the most social of the clans. While a single Hillclan can may not be much to talk about, when together they are formidable force. Other clans envy their ability to strategize and cooperate seamlessly with eachother.

Hillclan cats tend to be average sized, but well built with short thick fur, hard claws, and strong jaws. They mostly come in oranges and browns, with a mixing of tortoishell and calico cats. The only grey cats are those with mixed heritage, and black cats are uncommon.

Sacred Animals/Objects/Ideas:
Roots: roots are perhaps one of the most sacred things to Hillclan cats. Roots are believed to connect everything together, cats, other animals, the earth, etc. All life eventually returns to the earth, and roots connect this life.
Bones: Bones, like roots, are connective, they show cats life that existed in the past. However, unlike roots, bones are also used as decorative objects around the clan. When a cat makes their first kill, they keep the bones (at the least, the head of the animal) as a symbol of their progress and skill. Cats will also keep the bones of prey that was a difficult hunt, or if the death of that particular animal signifies some important event in the cats life.  However keeping the bones of another cat is strickly forbidden, nomatter the reason (Keeping the skull of a cat in particular is considered wrong).
Dandelions/Flowers: dandelions and flowers are thought to be pure and beautiful, but dandelions are the most pure. Any place with a bed of dandelions/flowers is considered to be an area with a stronger connection to the earth and to starclan. If a cat is in a bad place, frustrated, or feeling lost, they will often wear flowers in their fur, which is said to clear your mind and push away bad energies.
The Bone Tree: The bone tree is said to be the resting place of the founder of Hillclan. That when she died, her soul seeped into the earth and became the seed of the Bone Tree, a massive birch tree that nolonger grows leaves. It's believed that the Bone Tree's roots reach all throughout Hillclan territory, protecting and connecting all of Hillclan together.
Noleaf Trees: Tree's that grow no leaves are said to be the souls of dead cats, much like that of the Bone Tree. Although Hillclan cats do believe in starclan, and that a cat recieves a star once they die, they also believe that when a cat's spirit in starclan eventually fades, their soul retreats back to earth and becomes one with Hillclan again in the form of a tree.
Traditions:
~  Hillclan bury their dead and fill the hole with flowers.
~  Giving flowers to another cat signifies friendship, trust, respect, love, etc, depending on the flower
~  Due the plethora of red/orange cats in hillclan, many cats have prefixes/suffixes relating to fire or sunlight.
