Azodia
AZODIA
ABOUT
Azodia is unique in that its lesser gods can gain magic and power through one very specific method: consuming the metallic stars that can be floating in the surrounding Starsea. These stars are so integral to keeping lesser gods' strength up that entire industries have evolved to fish them out of the water and offer them to the gods on bended knee, with nearly fetishistic care taken in doing so.
Several schools of thought have arisen as to where the stars come from, with the two prevailing ideas being that the stars either come from an abyss deep in the Starsea... or from high above, past the oppressive cloud layer that covers the upper fourth of the sky. Past that cloud layer lies a churning miasma of highly acidic, dangerous liquid known as the Ocean, which occasionally drips through holes in the clouds into the world below. The current five nations are all attempting to discover the truth of the stars on their own, amid political conflict and danger.

Those lower on the spectrum are typically unaware of the H/C of Azodia. Their current location(s) are wholly unknown, although they are fairly separate and don't interact much with each other.
LESSER GODS
The lesser gods are highly prolific in Azodia, led by the thirteen Zodiacs - the strongest of the bunch. The Zodiacs have chosen countries and ideals to back, and have split across the current five nations. Lesser gods must regularly consume stars to keep up their magic and power, leaving some fairly underpowered while the Zodiacs are nearly at H/C level.
demiGODS
There is a high quantity of Demigods in Azodia, primarily because the lesser gods use them as immortal assistants and helpers who can't easily be killed - but do not require the same star diet as more lesser gods. Demigods are typically very pleased to assist their lesser gods and adore helping them, although a few traitors have been found here and there.
mortals
Mortals are deeply loyal to their patron lesser gods, and admire/idolize them to a massive extent. It's virtually impossible to encourage one to commit treason or give up information.
