Ngorivo is the name of my anthro headworld as well as the fictional Indian Reservation located in Southern California between Warner Springs and Borrego Springs.
Most of my experiences growing up in a reservation influence my characters and world. I'm inspired a lot by the desert, native-plant gardens, imagery of decolonization, cacti and succulents, Spanish architecture, coyotes, the coastal environment, and other artists. I want to retell these experiences and the thoughts I have through Ngorivo and am working on a visual novel of it.
It mainly focuses on the story of a group of young men, Modest, Rory, River, and Koyul, in 2017 reservation life within the hot and dry inland of San Diego County. There isn't much to rez life, but something seems to always be going on, especially nowadays. In every sense of the word, Ngorivo is home.
Though even home can contain secrets that are tucked away. Secrets that explain the strange events the boys have often dismissed as childhood imagination, and its answers are pointed toward the area's bloodied history.
