Once they were very close. As the former president of Evite, they have taught Jonathan everything he needed to know, so one day he could run the business himself. What Jonathan couldn't imagine is that they would dissappear when the family needed them most. No one has heard of Cholai since the attack on Nomination Day, nor there has been a body to be found. Jonathan has inherited his father's company the day after their legal death, and the more he searches through Evite's documents, the less he seems to know them.
You could sense Cholai's love for their children, but being a public figure, rare were the moments that they could show true affection.
Choli's daughter, Ametyr seems to be very protective of her, perhaps because she sees too much of her father in her, perhaps because of the child's role as Overseer, such a rare gift that could be easily exploited. Poor thing.
She would take a bullet for Lilium. She was specifically ordered to, if it ever comes to this.
Lilium thinks of her as a odd soul. The aura Ametyr shows around her is of caution and a possessive kind of care. If not for the immense resemblance with Quilynn, one could even suggest that Ametyr was her mother.
But Lilium knows best. She knows Ametyr is her way out of the Continent, she is the only way to return to where she came from... Before being an Ethel. Before being an oracle.
Childhood friends, when Pâmela applied to become part of the Guard, Eleak followed shortly after, but was dismissed. Instead, he focused on his studies on philosophy and sociology, which later garanteed the title of State Secretary, about the same time Pâmela was nominated Chief of the Royal Guard, a Colonel.
After Pâmela was kicked out of the Guard for badmouthing the Royal Family, Eleak stayed by the King's side, to gain his trust and provide information to the other side, he was the first to join the Generals Carvalho and Bossuet in the Revral.
His best friend, their history go way back, before any of them had blood in their hands.
Once a child left for dead in the South, Ametyr rescued him following the Noir's orders. She clothed and taught the boy Their ways, and how everything she did was to fullfill Their wishes. For caring for him all these years, Seth sees her as a mother, even if Ametyr never felt the bond necessary for such a title.
Seth immensily cares for his mother. And although he does not trust the One she follows, he sticks around Ametyr to make sure They will never ask too much of her.
Today, Aarseth acts on behalf of Ametyr when she's out. She completely trusts his decisions, because she guided him to know how to make them.
A powerful Doxumi from Evening Island and Amalia's wife. Arisen eons before Ametyr, she looked up to her almost as much as to the Noir Themselves, but wasn't able to have her hand until They allowed to, for she was Theirs.
Shortly after their wedding, Amalia was chosen to become a Doxumi herself. Fahisa helped her with the process, as well as getting used to her new role in the archipelago. That being said, it was a painful experience to leave her love behind, when Ametyr had to leave Doxur.
A employee. That's it. Nothing else. Ha.
Jonathan hired Djovaena about two years into his mother's reclusion period. She was supposed to teach Disposables sign language and decodification methods, but after learning about his mother from Lilium, she volunteered to care for their mother. After befriending Jonathan's sister it was hard to refuse. Her monitor and translation system are the only gen 3 tech allowed inside the house, which she uses to communicate with those who can't sign, as well as teach from a distance from the Evite central. She is... Hm. So. Vaena is a good employee and a friend of the Ethels.
Vaena does not think about him much, other than her employer. Being a friend of the family, she can say Jonathan is her Least Favorite Ethel. Of couse, she would never speak up about it or talk ill of him, she still have a job to do and the pay is way too good to give up like that, so she can stay on her lane. She does suspects the child might have a crush on her, but she just cuts him off whenever is necessary.
His care for his sister is something that goes beyond his general character. Overprotective and very supportive of her Gift's grown, a perfect brother. You see, it's a rare treat to have a Omniscient on your side, and to shape such raw power into the perfect tool? It's an unrefusable opportunity.
Rather than their own parents, Jonathan has been in charge of the kid's education since Cholai's disappearance, and has introduced her to the family business from a young age, so when she reached her full potential as a Seer, she would fit just fine into Evite, and into her brother's plans.
After Cholai left the face of the Earth, his eldest son, Jonathan, somehow became the owner of Evite, just as Ametyr had already planned everything for Mys's arisal. Although she sees a lot of his father in him, she does see enough differences to despise the kid.
For an employee, Jonathan knows very little about her. He knows that the woman has been working with his father for years, long before Lilium and he were born, but he's not certain of what are her duties in the company, or why the rest of the crew seem to look up to her more than him.
As he searched for her file, he found that it was secured by his father's iris, leaving a bad taste on his mouth, for it was the only locked file he's known about, and it should've been unlocked the moment Cholai was pronounced dead. Jonathan has not confronted Ametyr about it, but he can't help but have a bad feeling about having the woman so close to his business and his family for so long.
