Noctyrne's Links
He has nothing but respect for his father, who commands his full loyalty. However... in recent years, his respect has ceased to be quite so reverent. There are some cracks in the image his father projects he's begun to see.
Loves his elder brother dearly and would follow him into any battle, yet utterly frustrated by his seemingly endless patience. Their personalities contrast harshly.
Though he and Yeureum are closer, both in age and bond, they have a shared frustration with one another.
Their personalities clash violently, most people can't see why someone as quiet as Ewan would spend so much time with her. Because of their shared past, his bond with Esme is unshakable, and he's quite defensive of her in his own way. They spend a great deal of their time together.
Ewan is the person Esme cares about the absolute most, which says a lot because she doesn't apply the word "care" to very much. She's intensely protective of him and borders on manic if she goes long periods without seeing or interacting with him. He's her best friend and the only person who has 100% of her trust.
The universe itself may have stripped her of everything, taken her family, her people, the few she called friends in the early days of her life, but in her lowest moment, it gave her Si-U. His loyalty was unwavering, his faith in her without flaw, and his guidance gentle rather than insistent. Over time, Ame has come to rely on him as a cornerstone of her own existence. He is her guardian, friend, councilor and companion. She gave him the name Kuronamida, and he gave her a promise of eternity.
She is his charge, his purpose. Perhaps it's better that he and his family never saw eye to eye, because choosing her cost him everything. He doesn't regret it. A dragon is born for the sake of their charge, he was born to be her guardian. It doesn't matter where she goes, he will follow. Their bond transcends friendship, companionship, siblinghood, it is enough to tie them together into eternity. They're satisfied with that.
Shiranui is his dearest friend. They met as young dragons and, despite some stark differences in personality, formed a fast and lasting friendship. Regardless of what's transpired between himself and his family, Si-U is grateful to still have Shiranui after the dust has settled.
It put him in a precarious position, befriending Si-U. Shiranui figured it would. Even as a child, he was aware of Si-U's rebellious tendencies and had no doubt they would escalate. Of course, they did, and now Shiranui finds himself at odds with Yeong-Hwan himself, not to mention Si-U's elder brothers. Well, it's fine, he's good at toeing the line. They know he'd choose Si-U first any day.
{ THE BOYFRIEND ... SORT OF }
Meeting In-Su changed Dae Ho's life. He makes up a different story every time someone asks how they crossed paths. Only the other band members really know what happened, but they don't talk about it much.
To the public, Dae Ho and In-Su have very obvious chemistry. A lot of fans speculate that there's something more to their relationship and paint them as the "mama" and "papa" of the group. Shockingly, there really isn't anything between them. That doesn't mean Dae Ho doesn't WANT there to be... It's just... Not, yet. He's happy to be patient, though, for In-Su.
She loves her little sister more than anything, but feels guilty about the life they're forced to lead. Lyra would probably have a lot more friends if Io and the Forest weren't looming over her.
Io is her favorite person in the whole world. She loves the Forest, in her own way, and really doesn't care about the impact it has on their lives. People who judge her based on her sister and her duties aren't worth her time, in her opinion.
One of the few regrets he has regarding his flight from his birthplace is the damage it did to his relationship with his eldest brother. Despite years of rebellion, Daeshim continued to have faith in him, and the two were close. Unfortunately, that same faith has turned into blind refusal to accept that Si-U will never follow the path he was intended for. A rift has grown between them.
Sincerely wishes he would accept his position as clan heir. He cannot bring himself to understand Si-U's way of thinking, though even he will admit he hasn't exactly tried.
Ian cut ties with his past like severing an infected limb. Better to leave "Ayra Novia" in the ashes than leave gaping wounds in those left to remember him. He had no intention of ever connecting with the person he used to be again.
Then, there was Dominic Capello. A brazen fool, in up to his neck and not even aware of it. "Ayra" would have felt sorry for him, but Ian saw an opportunity. An asset.
Perhaps it's that they were never friends, not really. Acquaintances, barely. Making use of Dominic's odd fixation on him was easy, it came with no guilt. Dominic was, is, alive only by the grace of Ian's indifference. It's not unlikely that he'll die the same way.
Dominic considers Ian a missed opportunity, a thread of fate that he was never allowed to follow. He remembers Ian before the incident that took his family and his humanity, back when he went by "Ayra". Even then, he couldn't help but take notice of him. It was a passing kind of interest, the sort where Dominic always thought that he had more time. More time to get to know him, to speak to him, to see if there was a fire to be had from this spark between them.
Time ran out, and then "Ayra" was gone. In his head and heart, Dominic knows that there will never be anything between he and Ian. He knows he's being used, that Ian's rewards for his efforts are never going to be more than a half-thanks and a nod. Yet, he craves him. He wants to cling to that thread of fate they'll never explore. Doesn't it mean something, that even after all that time, after all the changes Ian's undergone, Dominic still knew him...? It doesn't. That's the worst part.
