Two primordial guardians of the multiverse find themselves growing bored of what they do. Alongside mortal and divine friends, they throw themselves into an infinite sea of alternate worlds, becoming sorcerers of fantasy kingdoms, magical girls fighting against evil, and office workers filing the day’s reports.
The Pan Aestiva, a grand and otherworldly parade, has touched down in Gravesend. For a week leading up to the summer solstice, the parade brings joy and wonder to all before magically spiriting away its decorations, performers, and festivities; and you, if you happen to overstay your welcome.
In the watery world of Phthalo, where monsters and strange phenomena reign, an organization of sailors emerges to protect the beaches, seas, and oceans from the paranormal. The Oceanic Paranormal Protections, or the O.P.P, tackles tasks ranging from simple shoreline hauntings to periodically quelling the Kraken.
Interning at the O.P.P is Opal, who has had a love for the ocean all her life. She joins the small crew of Roger, the aloof and jaded captain; Ain, a questionably enthusiastic mentor; Hazel, Roger’s quirky daughter; and Nut, a seaweed ghast that haunts the bottom of their boat. Together, the Hazelnut Crew (eloquently named by Hazel) travel the world in search of problems to solve.
