Calliope met Eddi when they were both in school, and were close friends through much of it. Although they were both on a scientific medical track, their personal interests took them in directions that could not be more different. While Eddi became a true medical doctor, Calliope took to more zany and science-fiction methods, receiving just enough training to be a qualified nurse, but spending much of her time tinkering in her workshop on a laser ray that would have... some kind of magical effect on Strudels.
Eddi was the first person to test Calliope's wondrous machine. She'd hoped that the ray would help her frail classmate become stronger, and while the zap technically did so, it also changed some aspects about him, the most significant being turning his body into plush fabric and stuffing. Thus began a feud - while Dr. Patch focused on studies to cure mutations and the Trickster condition, Calliope tinkered to perfect and control her machine from a place of morbid curiosity, and maybe a touch of madness.
Tabi met Eir on the trip to the Lost Lands, where they were both part of the expedition to discover Centaurs. They were separated while exploring the grasslands, but Tabi quickly developed a soft spot for Eir and her eager protectiveness.
There's something about the bookish-types that I just... I must protect. I met Tabi when going to the Lost Lands. She isn't a fighter, that's obvious. I felt it my responsibility to protect her, and as we traveled, I grew fond of her. I'd like to think we could become friends.

Raleka adopted Annie as a freshling. She loves him to pieces - the first child she brought under her wings, who has a similar passion for life as her. She couldn't have asked for a better son if she wanted to. She supports Annie's passion for familiars, and finds him to be responsible and resourceful - fully capable of growing up to be a great zoologist.
Annie was a cache orphan, but he never had the chance to even know it because Raleka adopted him so young. Of course, he knew he wasn't her biological son - anyone looking at them together could have recognized that. But he loves her more than anything, because she has never been anything other than kind and supportive towards him.
Rather openminded towards tricksters, noticing their growing population, Sable doesn't mind keeping Billie company. With plenty of time to explore during summer nights, one stumbles upon all sorts of curious things- veritable mansions haunted by lonely tricksters being one of them! Although they're not exactly proud of their impromptu haircuts, their better nature (and tendency to overheat...) leads them to figure they've got enough hair to spare.
