DEAD ON IMPACT
DEAD ON IMPACT begins on the rocky coast of the Sorrentine Peninsula in the 1990s, where the body of one Maria Rossi is discovered by two American tourists. The disheveled spectacle is promptly whisked off the beach; two hours later, it disappears from the morgue, leaving two disfigured forensic pathologists in its wake. The authorities rule it out as a drug-related incident. No one steps forward to claim her meagre belongings. Maria's body is never seen again.
Five years later, a stranger bearing Ms. Rossi's face shows up on the streets of New York City. With no memories before the age of twenty-two, Ciao is ready to make a name for herself; unfortunately, that name is as a sleazy cashier at her grimy, local skate shop. And, like most folks her age in the city, she's flat out of luck.. and cash.
Her job doesn't pay her well, her apartment's too small, the price of weed's always on the up-and-up, she's the indifferent bystander to the violence of an ancient agent of cruelty in its last desperate effort to make the world remember it.. and her boss sucks.
But she's charming enough, and manages to find good folks and a quick buck when she can.
Still, when specters from a life she didn't live start plaguing her mind, she can't shake the feeling that something's got unfinished business with her.
