the many is here to represent my enthusiasm.

SO OK . . the stardew/shackle grove AUs are super cool! and i was thinking that it might make coming up with stuff a little easier to have a solid space like this for pitching rough ideas, stuff that needs a lil more work to become full detail - and for like. "hey my character is/does x, y thing and does anyone have stuff they'd like to connect w/ that?", yknow, basically a way of setting the ground for links n development. the chat is rly good for this but also doesn't have permanency or time to really 'hm' over things, and also i really like the delineation of a toyhouse bulletin, it makes things easier on m brain

plus i know that i have personally forgotten more of my fun ideas for stuff like this than i have ever written down n thats a crying shame. i don't know. End Word: please talk abt your ideas for your AU characters a lot so i can leer at them

I don't really know what I'm doing here, I know precisely jack and shit about Stardew Valley

First of all, here's a link to the Stardew Valley wiki for you to read up on: http://stardewvalleywiki.com/

There's a lab in the actual game (it's attached to the Carpenter's Shop). Possibly Chester and Jewel could have a lab in the AU as well?

yooo alright i should dump all my characters here

in seaholly hamlet:

ayame is a schoolteacher/tutor. she's a longtime resident who strongly opposes scpcorp

cecil is the fortune teller on TV, who can also be visited in town. he came to dormere valley a couple years ago, he doesn't have many fond memories of his former home.

i don't know what corinne Does but she does live in town, i think with her sister madigan (i'll ask isa abt that)

ryou is just Boy who's a student of ayame and lives with her while his parents are away. he has a lot of rabbits

in shackle grove:

daffodil works at the museum/library. you'll notice he actually gets meaner the more you interact with him and give him things

the hostess (connie vallaria) is the owner of the saloon, called the Poison Petal. you probably shouldnt name a place where you sell food and drink after poison, but whatever. she likes to party

the caretaker (lily vallaria) is a funeral director/caretaker at the cemetery. she's connie's sister.

zinnia is also a caretaker at the cemetery. he buries the bodies of patrons garnitia needs to dispose of. he hates daffodil and likes garnitia

stardew kutsuuko is the town's blacksmith!! he and alecto are much like coworkers, they're both metal workers and theyre good friends. he's aged up to 20 too. he loves snow and he hates hot weather, and the night sky makes him a little anxious when he looks up at it for too long and takes in how vast it really is

Rook operates a café adjoining the museum, and occasionally picks up shifts there as necessary. She blew in a few years ago—probably a veteran of Some War. Also, she does latte art if she has enough time.

Al works the forge i guess? and has about four partial cars on cinderblocks rusting quietly on her property. she's probably a displaced bogan tbh

over in Shackle Grove—

idk what rook's fetters are Doing but i do know they're called Heather Wesson, Ruby Heath, and Luna Harvey respectively, like in the high school au

stuff on my own starshackle characters:

- Emery grew up in Seaholly, but left for Mysterious Reasons ten years ago, when he was 15! he's returned to town to sort through his recently dead dad's belongings, and ends up staying around long-term, trying to figure some things out. I'm still working on all the details of events surrounding all that so I'll probably be back w/ a bigger post about him later.

- I don't really know what to do Lunar yet! I kind of want to connect them to SCPcorp? I feel this same way abt Twelve, but I'm far less likely to do anything w/ them.

- If I bring in Grammaire, I like the idea of him being a wandering magical construct that moved into the forest because he really likes it there - there's cool bugs! Maybe he serves a 'give him the right present to get a wish' function? His wish-granting would have a lot less destructive drawbacks than usual.

- The Empty is every single janitor in Shackle Grove, somehow. Every janitor closet contains a copy of their suit, if you were to break in to look - the closets lock from the inside, of course. Their true form is a fly. They go by the name Mx. Hibiscus.

- The Many I still need to work out, but they use the name Mx. Fields and are probably something very strange like the Empty is.

- I kinda wanna bring in Emery's fetter design for this too but good gracious this is a lot already, if I did bring in The Contract, he's a kid so he's one of the students at shackle grove's school

more about em now, w/ the full Unfun Details of what's actually going on:

- His dad was up to some real spooky shit that put out a LOT of bad magical vibes ten years ago, there's still a lot of lingering Ugh around the house, but after The Incident when em left town it abruptly stopped because dude went to Jail, Did Not Pass Go. The magical bs picked up once again, though, when dude got out on parole and came back to town only weeks before his death.

- getting rid of the leftover nasty magic left in the house is part of why emery decides to stay in seaholly, so that's a good basis for interactions! emery isn't really a magic person himself in this AU hhaha, he's very uneasy about it and around it, but he'd rather de-curse everything than Not and he can't do that alone.

- in the interests of full disclosure; similar to DM canon emery's dad decided sacrificing his son for an awful magic ritual was a GREAT idea; unlike dm canon it all went very pear-shaped

- if he was ANY of my other my ocs the extra deluxe secret would be that emery totally killed his dad himself but that is genuinely not what happened. i don't have a solid answer for what did happen.

Maybe Pat could help Emery out with the decurising everything? I mean generally though this is Emery's thing and I don't want to make it all about Me kinda dealio though but I like the idea of Pat's mom Elphaba (Who was the witch/wizard before Pat.) being vaguely aware of Nathaniel Crowes's activities but not having the time to really investigate in what he was doing. But do let me know if Elphaba wouldn't be aware of that!

I like the idea of Emery going to Pat's tower and asking her to help him? Oh! Maybe Rhi could pop up sometimes by Emery's house and she really likes the spooky stuff and Emery's like "UhhhHHHHH don't touch that augh".

Please, please do let me know if I get anything wrong or make any bad assumptions or if you don't like any of these ideas! I really want to make this as comfortable as possible for you. It is okay if you say no to any of these.

I LIKE ABSOLUTELY ALL OF THESE IDEAS - a big thematic deal with emery coming back to seaholly is navigating what lingering impressions and information might be lingering around from the past, so th thing about Elphaba fits perfectly with what i want!

i wanted to let you know right quick i dig all of these, i'll be more like, detailed and do another reply to this but - yeah!!

I've been considering making Anna Kishibe (She's a mistake I have popping around that I haven't done much with). In the AU she's a tired, overworked shop owner/employee (could go either way) who's probably vaugely associated with SCPcorp. Or she could be like Kent in that she's a tired, unhappy shop owner who was forced into being a shop owner by her parents. It could go either way, and honestly I don't know which one to pick.

Rhi also probably works on a horse farm too. She probably also likely likes to follow the occult. She's quite friendly enough in this AU, nothing much is different from her. She probably could be seen out after dark wandering around doing stuff.

And I'm here also, and not editing in a character later to express my excitement because I have limited time before work!

Anyway!

Laurence is a former big city worker who moved to the country to sort of get away from it all (possibly from SCPcorp?), but he still gets busy. He lives alone and can surprise people at times if he doesn't announce his presence until later in a conversation.

And I really want both Ryker and Jezebel in this AU as well, but I don't know what roles they'd serve in this. I'm open to suggestions on either of them.

---

Shackle Grove is a different entity entirely.

The Wheel of Fortune runs carnival games at festivals. His name is Vannas Ajaaxs (so basically the same name he goes by).

The Governess is the mayor of that town. Her name is Hyacinth Starwall. Mayor Hyacinth Starwall

Ryker is the local "cool kid" who tries too hard to be cool. He has a band/is in a band. It kinda sucks.

Isaac also lives with Ryker. Isaac apprentices at the lab in the valley and hopes to eventually work there full time when he's old enough. One more year, come on...

im using monoman to express my excitement i made a bot for him on manyland like he was the first bot i ever made

also OK NICE so!

yuuka is a farmer protagonist, she's plucky and driven

nan is a baker, he has a phobia of telephones due to PTSD

canaria is a junimo/forest spirit, he used to be archibald's fiance

If I may make a suggestion, and it's totally okay if you turn it down btw. What if Yuuka and Pat sometimes meet to talk about the forest spirits and sometimes sit around to watch bad movies and make fun of them? I could see them having bad movie night.

these are SUPER good ideas i would honestly love this a lot! i like the idea of having them be friends like that, and i like the idea of them putting their heads together to figure out whats up with the forest spirits

I like the idea of Yuuka being able to speak and interact with the forest spirits while Pat can't (Maybe Pat can't interact with Canaria for this reason too/he avoids her? Although it's just a suggestion, and you're Canaria's creator so you know him better.). Pat can talk to the merpeople, elementals, and other fantasy critters but it's those darned junimos, perhaps the most important critter of the forest, that she can't talk with. So she could definably have need of Yuuka!

oooh yeah? :D i LOVE that idea now that you brought it up, i like the idea of them working as a team to try and interpret the junimos!! they would make a rly good team imo
