Respect Artists & Creators Please

Omfg if you're in a couple of channels I'm in, you probably already heard this but:

Please respect a characters owner. If they request that you don't gift them art as a surprise or request that you ask them first RESPECT THEIR WISHES.

Especially if they tell you that surprises effect their mental health.

What prompted this was a response on a status a friend of mine posted and the response they received.

Idk what's wrong with the other user and why it's so hard to understand that just because they are okay with any kind of gift art of their characters, other artists might not and that's okay. Their posts show how grossly ignorant they are and I just.... ugh. (Edit: wow, I now feel like I can curse them out with no problem because of what they said here)

Look, you can have your opinion but you should respect others and not try to bully or guilt them into your POV because that makes you a POS who no longer deserves to have their opinion left unquestioned.

its interesting to know their age especially considering theyre in a slave/master relationship and have a bunch of porn in their deviantart favorites.
and considering the fact they say theyre in a art school (which i doubt considering their art is less than art school worthy...not meaning to drag their art, its okay imo, but lol. but also because i havent heard of a art school that lets people that young in)

They're something like 8 or so hours ahead of eastern America if they're actually in Finland so being asleep is a legitimate possibility but yeah

This particular person sounds especially vile. Guess I have a new addition to my block list. xD

But aside from that, I think there are some people who think by complimenting, commenting, or gifting an artist makes them friends now, and now the artist owes them praise, attention, and sometimes even gifts back. Same kind of people who whine about being in the "friend zone" I think. Probably explains a lot about the kind of person this guy is. :\

I think most people would be respectful of wishes like that, though. :3 Most people understand!

TBH it always astounds me that I'm friends with so many artists like.... why are you talking to me, I just made runaway comments and stealthily fave your shit. So I wanna protect them because I can't really give them anything other than my time, effort, and attempts at protection/good vibes

Well I'm currently working to educate them on copyright law 😂

16 yr old who admits that they have 0 exp with it vs 26 yr old Stanford graduate who took copyright law clasdes throughout her college career plus works with copyright law as a side job. Who will win?
