it’s exactly what it says on the tin ; what would your story/main universe/whatever be like if it was a show/series?

feel free to answer freeform or answer some questions i made up if you’d like ?

-how would it be shown? live action, western animation, anime, cgi animated, etc

-what would the main genre be?

-how long would it run for?

-how long would episodes be? common times are 11, 15, or 30 minutes or over an hour

-how would the story be divided and formatted between episodes and seasons?

-what would the opening theme be?

-what would the ending theme be?

try to keep things non related to hypothetical fandoms, there’s a thread for that

i've got a few different stories i'd like to explore, ideally they'd all be animated shows or movies. the main one i'd like to see is Interdimensional as an animated series, it'd be an adventure-of-the-week style show with the occasional bit of High School Nonsense. 22 minute long episodes (30 with commercials, if it was on regular TV), maybe 2 ~ 4 seasons? i haven't really written any overarching stories so i don't know how long it'd need to be, but it'd definitely have a predetermined ending so it doesn't drag on forever. it might just be character-driven so the story revolves around them and their character development instead of some Big Evil Baddie, but i'm not sure. i refuse to sell the rights to my characters and stories though so unless i somehow manage to open my own studio, it's just gonna end up a self-done webcomic ∠( ᐛ 」∠)_

these questions look fun :D answering for my main oc story departure :)

  • how would it be shown? live action, western animation, anime, cgi animated, etc
animation (preferably western cuz in general im not a fan of anime LOL) would absolutely be the ideal... there could be so many visual gags and references that would be amazing :) and i think my art style would be a good style for a cartoon as i like to have a lot of shape language and such when i draw... but animation be expensive so perhaps live action could be fun too.

  • what would the main genre be?
sitcom 100% with a tiny bit of fantasy and romance/drama in it when necessary for the plot. thered be college/growing into adulthood related stuff so i think sitcom is the only genre that would really work LOL...

  • how long would it run for?
if the seasons are around 12 episodes i'd say a good two perhaps? i could probably come up with a decent amount of episode synopses but i wouldn't want there to be shitty episodes because we ran out of ideas :P i wouldnt want it to be too long anyways

  • how long would episodes be? common times are 11, 15, or 30 minutes or over an hour
maybe 30? maybe 15? idk. however long each individual episode would need to be (unless it has to be a several episode special for whatever reason)

  • how would the story be divided and formatted between episodes and seasons?
i think there would be a kinda minor plot in the background, but most of the episodes or plot points would be fairly isolated and enjoyable out of order.

  • what would the opening and ending theme be?
ideally it would be like this :)

joking aside this is a weird one for me LOL... kinda hard to answer. i think the opening would be formatted like this vine here cuz its a fun and lighthearted way to introduce characters imo. in all honesty i dont watch tv/shows that often so i dont have much to pull from. anything that matches the genre and themes of the show basically o_o;;

Weird Monster Pals & Extant Universe are both my main works as of now so I'll be mainly answering about them.

I've thought a lot about animated adaptions of my... work in progress stories. With the way my Extant Universe series works, an animated series could work out since really It's about different stories taking place in the same universe so ideally one or two could be adapted. But if we're being honest if I had the chance to make an animated adaption it'd probably be something original and weird.

  • How would it be shown?

1. It'd definitely have to be animated... I am curious how most of my designs would translate to live-action but I feel like most of the lore, characters and locations would be much easier and better to depict in animated form. I'm a little torn between western or anime style... There's things I like about both and things I don't, if anything the art style would be just my own... Which is kind of a mixture of both.

  • What would the main genre be?

2. Modern fantasy.... Does that count as a genre? I like fantasy creatures and colorful characters but I also like the idea of robots and technology mixed in as well. My WMP series would just be fantasy, but probably styled like that of a cartoon... Silly & humorous but more of the plot gets revealed later on.

  • How long would it run?

3. Depends on which story I adapt, could either be long or short lived. If it was an adaption of multiple Extanverse works then it'd run for a long while. WMP would probably run for a few seasons, maybe 4? Just at least for the story, WMP does has a plot but it's the kind of work where I'd probably continue writing about the lives of these characters even after the day is saved.

  • How long would episodes run?

4. 30 minutes for Extanverse since it's the more serious of the two. Probably 15 for WMP, could also be 30 but each episode is 15 so it's the same sort of deal with Spongebob.

  • How would the story be divided and formatted between episodes and seasons?

5. I'm honestly not completely sure, It all comes down to how each story could be told without rushing it or dragging it on... I'd like to say maybe 15 episodes a season?

  • What would the opening and ending theme be?

6. The opening would be a fun catchy theme song and would probably be fast paced as well with the main character running around the town with all the other characters popping up briefly displaying their character quirks if possible. This is kind of a generic one but if it was a specific story, it'd probably be super stylized to that stories' themes. The ending theme in comparison would be kind of somber and would have a blue & purple color scheme to it. Mostly just showing characters where they usually hang around that time of night, maybe a cliche scene of a character sadly looking out at the window.

[Sorry if I worded this weirdly or anything... I don't mind expanding upon a question if asked.]
