Minors drawing NSFW, yay or nay?

So i had a discussion with a friend about this topic recently and would just be interested in other peoples opinions on it and their reasoning behind them.

In my opinion this sort of thing is not a big deal, minors can have sex so why shouldn't they draw it? And drawing gore seems like no big deal to most people so why should some dicks mentally scar them? Of course they shouldn't be pressured into drawing NSFW and not use themselves as a refrence (would that be considered child pornography?) but having an interest in lewd art is nothing too out-of the ordinary for a teenager. Do you agree/disagree?

Another thing is minors offering NSFW Commissions buuut i'm not sure yet how to feel about that so... yeah. Opinions?

Why did this thread need to get bumped again? But fine, here’s my opinion before I block it.

Minors can’t necessarily be stopped from drawing NSFW in private (unless their parents catch them and stop them, which would be a good thing imo since engaging with NSFW as a minor can actually end up being more harmful than helpful), but if a minor is going to be drawing NSFW, they at the very least should not be posting it or discussing their kinks online, as that could potentially make them more vulnerable to online predators. Minors especially should NOT be taking NSFW commissions, art trades, or requests! Artistic nudity is fine since artistic nudity isn’t inherently sexual and can help people learn to draw anatomy better. It’s usually pretty obvious when something was meant to be artistic Vs sexual.

Also, minors really shouldn’t be having sex either. Don’t get me wrong, it’s fine and healthy for minors to explore their sexuality to an extent. Having crushes, dating, fantasies, all that isn’t abnormal. Better and more inclusive sex ed could also benefit minors a lot. Many minors tend to figure out their sexuality or at least what they currently think it may be (not everyone figures it out the first time, and that’s okay) before they’re 18, and they don’t need porn or real life sex to do that. I figured out what I’m attracted to via my fictional crushes, not from looking at porn or having sex with people. Minors having full-on sex before they’re at least 18 is not beneficial. Underage sex can be harmful, especially if they haven’t been properly educated about sex, and no, porn doesn’t count as education. And back to the porn thing, even if minors may have sexual fantasies sometimes, actually exposing yourself to porn, especially a lot of it, at such a young age can damage your brain and maybe your morals too, depending on what you were exposed to. I know because I got exposed to a lot of fandom NSFW as a minor and it messed with my head. Being exposed to NSFW art at a young age literally made me think feral porn was okay for a while!!! So glad I got past that phase, because feral NSFW is freaking disgusting and I hate that it even exists. Anyways, minors can’t consent. I don’t care if the age of consent is 16, you’re still a minor until you’re 18.

Tl;dr It’s fine for minors to explore their sexuality to an extent, but having real life sex and engaging with adult/NSFW spaces and drawing porn as a minor will very likely do more harm than good.

I don't think its okay for a minor to post or share that they make corn  at all but we cant stop a kid from drawing r34 at all

i don’t think the issue is drawing nsfw. It’s often a much healthier outlet than actually having sex. You should never ever post it though. Where I am, sharing nsfw art that isn’t for learning is against the law, it’s similar to sharing nudes and can get people in trouble.
ntm, it can also put you in a lot of gross situations, and often does lead to pedophiles preying on you. There really is no reason to share it with anyone either, not that drawing it is something to be ashamed of but it’s not really something to flaunt either. It could also get any adults who see it in trouble too.

You shouldn’t view it either, it’s one thing to draw it and it’s a completely different one to sneak into adult spaces you know you shouldn’t be in just to see nsfw. ESPECIALLY bcuz while, as long as there is a warning that the content is 18+, the adults won’t get in trouble, I know the adults I’m friends with would be so disgusted to know a minor saw something they shouldn’t have that they created. Plus, when I was much younger, around 11-13, I was apart of a fandom that never even tried to hide nsfw content and it was extremely traumatizing to little me, it really doesn’t do any good for anyone to view what you shouldn’t be. Plus it can lead to mental issues on a developing brain.

TLDR;

drawing it: it’s fine, better than actually doing anything irl and isn’t hurting anyone

sharing it/interacting with other’s nsfw art: no. Very bad, can lead to dangerous situations and trouble with the law. No one should even know you draw it because why would you tell anyone 😭. It leads to discomfort/disgust on both ends and can lead to the younger person having issues like hypersexuality.

and minors drawing nsfw commissions fits under that category. I think you’re super fucking weird if you are a grown adult comfortable with paying a minor to draw your ocs doing nsfw shit.

one last thing: when it comes to gore, it tends to not be as censored as you grow up. My parents would let me watch horror movies with them that involved blood/guts, but always covered my eyes during sex scenes. It’s a far more socially open thing, that i rarely see anyone actively try to hide. Where as porn stuff you are(usually) raised being told it’s bad, and you shouldn’t look at it, furthermore, one is against the law and the other is not. Your brain would intake the information a lot differently in comparison. But I would like to say, gore DOES often traumatize people. Many cannot stomach it, just because they can see it legally doesn’t mean it does not affect them.

that’s all. I keep seeing this thread and thought I might as well answer since it’s abt my age range.

bnnuybit

if they draw it and don't post it anywhere, sure, that's relatively normal

i voted "no", however, bc usually it does get posted, and this can be a slippery slope into being groomed, slipping into adult spaces and even potentially getting well meaning adults in trouble. i automatically assume all nsfw art i come across is made by an adult bc the vast majority is and y'know, ud think the 18+ tag would very clearly indicate that only people 18 and over should be using it! but i always find myself going and checking bc u can never be too careful, and yeah there's a lot of nsfw content minors post online :/
