Among Us, believe it or not. It was a fun game back in 2018, actually one of my favorites!
Time travel to 2021, and I don't really play it anymore. It's been RUINED by all the memes, ngl
Exactly what the title said. What popular and mainstream things were you (and still are) a fan of before they hit the mainstream and exploded into popularity?
I'm admittedly curious about what things you guys are the OGs of.
Those Gacha games, I mean Lunime's games in general, back then, their games were gacha simulators with RPG elements! Bit of a letdown to see the gacha/RPG parts of it to be relegated as just the side dish since Gacha Life.
I was also into Cookie Run waaaaay before Kingdom released. My first exposure of it was Ovenbreak at its earliest updates (Season 2 premiere iirc).
i dont know if this counts but my favorite animal has been the red panda LONG before "turning red" came out (like.. since i was 10) and when i told someone they were my favorite animal one day they replied with "it's because of the movie isn't it? haha" IT IS NOT!!!!! (shoutout to that movie though)
The song Alien Blues by Vundabar started getting used in animations and edits awhile back and that caught me off guard. It was on heavy rotation for me early 2021-2022, so it was funny hearing it pop up again!! Good song.
I liked OneRepublic before I Ain`t Worries was released... from 2021 (but my first song I liked was Connection, now Feel Again)
Also I liked some other songs before they`ve become popular ( i can`t remember artists)
Also I liked frogs from childhood, some ppl said that they`re ugly, but when it became a trend, they`re changed their mind XD
I want to say skz, I found out about them during my pace era
They rlly stood out to me because they didn't just make songs about love, heartbreaks or boyfriend songs but encouraging, mental health and other relatable personal topics that spoke to me
but it's not like they weren't unpopular at debut considering they came from one of the big 3 companies but they really blew into popularity 2020 and onwards
