I was a huge Mother Mother fan back in like 2014, and I remember thinking about how I would never be able to listen to them live due to how underground they were. Now tiktok propelled them up and they're a world-wide phenomenon
Exactly what the title said. What popular and mainstream things were you (and still are) a fan of before they hit the mainstream and exploded into popularity?
I'm admittedly curious about what things you guys are the OGs of.
Now that I think about that...Maneskin and Bring Me The Horizon (they are not mainstream but have grown a lot since their first album), I live in Europe so I believe that's why I knew about them way before they got popular/more popular, always loved both and I am glad for their success!
Archery, then the hunger games came out when I was like in I think middle school and everyone kept saying I only do archery because I’m trying to be freaking katniss. And I’m like no you dingbats, I did archery before she existed and I deer hunt with a bow.
the amazing digital circus! ive known about it since long before the pilot released. i was around for the first few teasers & previews, and i vividly remember the release of that comic with pomni’s iconic unicorn horn design. i was also at the premiere for the pilot
im still shocked by how popular the pilot has gotten
the coffin of andy and leyley is the only media i (think) i can lay claim to, i played it shortly after its release and loved it
i hate the second chapter though please get me out of here. and the fact that everyone KNOWS IT for the second chapter...
[not] proud to admit i was an original object show fan
was in the fandom from 2013 to 2019 and it was an interesting 6 years LMAO. i was a bit of a microcelebrity from 2017-2018 and it was awful cuz i was pretty young. ive since scrubbed all evidence of my association with that community but some of my current ocs used to be object characters
