Things You Liked Before They Were Cool

Exactly what the title said. What popular and mainstream things were you (and still are) a fan of before they hit the mainstream and exploded into popularity?

I'm admittedly curious about what things you guys are the OGs of.

danganronpa, liked it before it became super popular lol

Lilina

I LOVED Ovenbreak before it became a gacha franchise. I'm one of those CR fans who had the chance to play the original games first (OvenBreak, OvenBreak Infinity, and OvenBreak 2) before playing Cookie Run. My main reason why I started playing CR OvenBreak back in 2017 is because of the nostalgia I had with the classic games.

Three Days Grace! I saw them at a venue with only around 300 people, and have four signed shirts! Been a fan for at least 6 years!

IIDX

I’ve been a fan of Utsu-P since 2010 until recently when he fucking sold out to get a pop loving audience lmao

ETA: yeah he definitely did sell out, going from thrash metal to pop and arena rock in the past few years is selling out. I'd know, I've been around since TRAUMATIC released, so
at least The Ohayogozaimas exist

Among us.

VictoryDrawsStuff

Cookie Run and Kings Raid

Cosmind

idk how mainstream it is now (i mean there's an anime and a new game now) but to me it's "The World Ends With You"

It was hella unknown and niche in my country when I got it (at least it felt like it???). Tbh I still feel like the games aren't the most mainstream of thing but still.

Fret is best and we all believe in Neku-Jesus

BurritoToast

Imagine Dragons, Kid Icarus, and Fire Emblem.

(seriously, I own two of the very first copies of the two games and love them)

- Cookie Run. I still prefer the og endless runner game honestly ;0;

-  BTS. I've loved their stuff since.. 2015-ish(?) and I remember when they were just another neat kpop band that I listened to so its still kind of wack seeing them everywhere now

- Also idk if it counts since it blew up pretty fast but Genshin Impact too. I found an extremely early ad for the game by complete chance and lemme tell you, when I signed up for preregister I was fully convinced that gameplay + style would be something similar to World of Warcraft based on what was on their website at the time and I had absolutely 0 clue that I was throwing myself into a gacha hell. Mistakes were made lol.

Shadow & Bone! I only read the Six of Crows series but still, it's super weird seeing two different clashing fandom people on ao3 when I'm just there for book fics
