+1 on what Trosper said bc I feel like people also seem to forget that kids/teens these days (at least in the US) are growing up with weakening resources (loss of the '3rd place'/places to hang out, parent neglect, schools getting stricter/more hostile, the pandemic happening during years kids typically develop a lot of skills) so ofc kids these days are going to act out more when they don't have the same outlets & support, and are treated as sub-human by the education system. I get annoyed by kids sometimes too, but I wish people would look at the full picture more & have some level of emphathy
OT: on a lighter note, laughing at smear frames & understanding why they exist aren't mutually exclusive & I hate that when you find them funny people assume that you're calling it 'bad animation'. It's not, it's a well established teqniue used to imply fast & dynamic motion without having an excessive amount of frames & risking causing it to be clunky. But also wide spongebob with 3+ eyes is funny
v major plus one. I'm so annoyed that reactionaries clogged diversity discussion with "forced diversity" because it's really hard to talk about actual issues like avoiding boxing everyone into one experience or letting marginalized groups exist in media outside of the lens of trauma or a life lesson. But then I see clickbait youtubers cry over a 14 year-old's headcanon or complain that a woman isn't sexy in an apocalyptic piece of media & yeah we're not getting anywhere
