i always wonder what people are actually looking for when they put all their ocs for tentative trade, like they have to be interested in something specific to even consider it.. right?
Mandarake messed up with my order and I was like "oh god what are they sending to me" as they did tell but I had never seen that product anywhere (it's vintage manga related so information is hard to find) but after some browsing Japanese auctions and their product examples I'm actually pretty happy with what I'll get? Except that the cover image is Bad

The other day I swore I saw a guy looked just like Jacksepticye and Markiplier if they had a child, I don't ship it but I'm just saying they look exactly like a mix between the both of them and I was just like HIS HAIR IS THE EXACT GREEN JACKS IS IMC RYIN
but I know it wasn't them, bc I don't think their hair is green anymore, pretty sure x'D
and then the next day I thought I saw someone who looked just like the main guy from goblin I like fangirled a bit since well they were handsome just like he is;w;;;
hum. as much as i would love to make new friends, i think the close knit ones i have now are the realest and greatest ones i'll ever have and i'm so fucking thankful for that
little iso things: hearing a friend lost a rly good image of their oc someone drew years ago and checking several forums to find it, going through someone's tumblr and da to find it, trying 10,000 different things on google, searching through someone's photobucket, manipulating urls to try and find it bc their main gallery was private, and realizing it has to be trapped on a website that was taken down years ago with a url i can't guess.
...then finding a backup of said forum, downloading the backup and realizing i have no idea how to look through it, downloading a free trial of a program that can view .sql files, opening said file and realizing it's all just a bunch of forum code that's a bajillion lines long, then ctrl+f-ing through the code for the character's name, not finding the pic, and then searching for the artist's photobucket username to find photobucket files they had posted and clicking search buttons one by one bc of how weird the program's search system was and copypasting urls to see images and then finally, Finally at long last finding the pic
yeah it took me 2 hours but goddamn it i found that motherfuckin pic
never accuse me of not being a dedicated friend.

I HOPE YOU DONT MIND ME PINGING YOU BUT LIKE... MOOD? I do this stuff all the time (spent like 5 hours hunting down a friend's Flight Rising account for them with literally nothing to go off of except "I think I posted about a programmer, and I joined really early"). I love going on huge elaborate internet hunts for ppl, especially friends? I know James calls me an internet sleuth and like... IT'S SO FUN AND I LOVE HOW EXCITED THEY ARE?
I'M JUST REALLY EXCITED TO FIND SOMEONE ELSE WHO DOES THIS OK IT'S AWESOME
i did it.... it took forever and i had to talk to like 50 people but I Did It...... i finally got around to PMing every person i've ever adopted a design from who had an unclear TOS (or none at all) to ask some questions abt various things...
i've already gotten a solid chunk of PMs back and a lot of them say i can use my designs commercially or at least that they're open to negotiation should i ever actually make my Dream Game(tm) which is reassuring!! even if some people say no i'm still excited about the ones i Can use, esp since i'm free to use some pretty important figures! plus now i know which artists i'm free to buy more from guilt-free! well... guilt-free on the "but if you buy them the world will never be allowed to see them!!" front, the money front is still always guilt city
Nonstop I'M GLAD I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO'S DONE SOMETHING LIKE THAT... i spent forever searching for the creator of a design of mine once, too, the creator even wound up applauding the sheer amount of sleuthery i had to do to find them all just to make sure they were credited properly. I Am Dedicated.
