10 Votes No preference, honestly I have a fair share of each OwO

Henlo earthlings!
*this is my first time posting a thread, if I mess something up send halp   *
Do you have an OC that in not from this world? Maybe a very similar world or a completely different one? Maybe they're from an already established fictional world (worlds from movies, anime, video games, etc...), or a world that you made yourself? Maybe it even is this world but a very differnet time period? Maybe way back in the past or far in the future?
No matter, post them all here

And to make things more interesting you may answer any or all of these questions:

  • What world are they from and what is it like?
  • How does their world compare to our world? What's similar, what's different?
  • If your OC came to our world, what would they think of it? What are the things they would notice the most?
  • What would they do if they came here? What places would they wanna visit?
  • How would they fit in?
  • What would they like? What would they dislike?
  • What would they learn form the experience of visiting our world, if anything?
  • Any other comments you'd like to share about this topic that's not in the questions above?

Have fun with this thread, post as many characters as you like, from as many different worlds as you like, write as much or as little as you like

Tim tim-in-a-box

Gonna break the ice on this thread real quick to post my own OC
I put it in spoiler cuz it's real long o:

What world are they from? What is it like and how does their world compare to ours? What's similar, what's different?

Tim comes from a fictional world of my comic. His world is in many ways similar to ours but also very different. The world is heavily based on out world, the story goes that it actually is our world, but like 100000years in the future O_O Considering it’s the world of a funny comic, the world tends to be a bit more, let’s say eccentric than ours, more /everything goes/ type of world

If your OC came to our world, what would they think of it? What are the things they would notice the most?

If Tim came here, I think one of the things he’d have to get used to is that the time is shorter, days are shorter, weeks are shorter, people’s lives are shorter. But also the world is a lot bigger and it takes more time to get anywhere D:
He also comes from the world where there’s a severe lack of women, which is then compensated by a lot of men dressing up as women or switching genders. In our world, that’s not the case at all, and he’d be the weird one for dressing up as a woman. I mean he gets insecure enough about it in his world and doubts if that’s really what he wants to do, but holy shit you people just gotta be dicks about everything all the time don’t you :|

As a fashion enthusiast, he’d be somewhat saddened by all the “fast fashion”, fashion seems mostly dominated by a few large soulless corporations who exploit cheap 3rd world workforce and focus more on profits than creativity and pride of creating a beautiful piece of good quality clothing. Sure there are more expensive and better quality bands and fancy fashion designers but let’s face it, most of us are wearing cheap H&M jeans that will go to shit by the end of the year :T
Also, people in this world seem to be wayy out of touch with their god (or gods?). There’s bunch of religions and no one has any idea who or what god may or may not be, if he or she or they even exist. You may pray, you may sin, does it matter? no one knows. In Tim’s world, Glitter God and Satan are very much involved in people’s lives. You go to a temple you know why and for who, you make an offering and if the god likes it, he’ll help you. Go and do bad things, you’ll get punished. It’s pretty straight forward and everyone knows what’s up and what to do.

Families don’t seem to be as close either. Like, people don’t even marry their BFF, do you people even care about each other at all?
He’d also be traumatized by the fact that people eat animals, no such thing happens in his world O___O He’d have nightmares about this one for weeks O____o

What would they like? What would they dislike?

He would fall in love with Harajuku girls and be deeply disturbed most people /don’t/ dress up like that for every day.
He would probably get fixated on some or the other type of a cake or snack that doesn’t exist in his world.

He would think everyone in this world just seems more selfish and greedy in compare to his world.

What would they do if they came here? What places would they wanna visit?

Tim, I’m pretty sure Tim would want to visit big cities, especially fashion capitals, New York, Paris, Tokyo. It would be a good shopping trip and a chance to gather some ideas and inspirations for his own fashion design projects. He should absolutely come in time for Fashion Week :D

How would they fit in?

I think for just walking around and going to places, he’d fit in alright. Though his species is technically not entirely human, there’s no major noticable differences as long as no one tries to map his DNA or something. I can imagine him getting into some /man from Taured/ type of situation at some point if he was gonna travel between New York & Paris & Tokyo tho and he’d say some weird thing here and there if he was interacting with people, but he wouldn’t be ~completely~ out of place.

What would they learn from the experience of visiting our world, if anything?

After his visit to our world, I think Tim would appreciate his world more. There’s things he might take for granted in his everyday life, but after seeing our world, he’d make an offering to Glitter God and hug his BFF Nina and create a few new dresses he got inspired for during his trip to our world. He’s still thinking about that one really good cake thing or snack he tried here. He’ll have to come back one day.

OPIATHE

My whole OC story is on a planet called Void, i have literatures for my World + the lore

MARSFAUN

All of my characters are on different places to Earth! In my main story, the planet my characters are on is linked to the Earth in ways, I have world / dimension travellers that can go to Earth and even some that have moved there! However, I find writing about the planet (Cutopia but I don’t like the name anymore so I’m thinking of changing it) more fun than writing about Earth lol.

<planet> is basically Earth but better. Better because it has cool species. It’s like if there was Earth but demons and angels discovered it before humans did. Because basically Earth already existed and demons + angels + other species of humanoid creatures found <planet> and then humans discovered it through dimensional travel I guess? Or just planet travel? Idk it isn’t very fleshed out yet and it’s 10:30pm I’m tired.

For the third question, my kiddo Robert has actually been to Earth to visit his mother. Honestly he just doesn’t like the people. There are way too many. In <planet> the population is very small due to recent wars and demons + angels just getting bored and leaving for other planets. Shadow, Robert’s brother, has also been to Earth. He travels to many different planets and dimensions for fun and believes that Earth is, by far, the most boring, that is if he isn’t at a fruit juice convention. Then he would be having the time of his life because there isn’t really one of those in <planet>. And for question five, neither would fit in good. I think people would easily spot a vampire-demon and a weird shadow ghost demon thing and probably stay away lolll.

Might write more tomorrow idk I’m tired lol

BlueTomoshibi

Did you make this thread for me? My story is all about that - characters from another world coming to an earth like our own and vice versa

I even made a world page for the story which details the stuff about the other world

👑 King Wredil MegiW

Ay thats very interesting info about Tim and world they come from x)

I have 3 universes for now:
Main one S: Light Lord
(I worked A LOT on this one and I still do, it's still not finished I'm bad at writing pfff. Its a fully fantasy universe with its own rules, magic, monsters, blabla. Its mostly medieval theme but fully fantasy not historically correct cuz who doesn't love a dose of fantasy.)
Oldest one S: Father
(Old universe that is semi-realistic, veryyy similar to our modern times, characters still ain't humans but live just like them. They are on same planet as humans, BUT in separated dimension that humans can't find) (Since this universe is oldest, its bit outdated and I need to catch some time to develop it more)
and S: Salvino
(Post-apocalyptic universe with cray cray technology, this universe was inspired by the very first version of my main oc. Not developed a lot yet.)

in front of each universe name stands for 'Souloids'
Souloids are species I made up longggggggg ago, they aren't special in looks but in way their insides, soul n stuff works. Cuz its important for the rules of all 3 universes to make it more interesting n special hah.

Fun fact: SOME main characters from S: Father also appear in S: Light Lord and S: Salvino too, but look a bittt different and follow bit different rules.
Basically, my main oc Wredil in S: Father universe is a modern man who's a singer n violin player.

Despiter Yupiter Hub Jovian

Sounds like a good thread to bust out Despi, they're from a world that's the most alien one I've built yet compared to Earth.  I have a whole cast of characters from this species in their folder!

But basically, their planet, Terram Argentum, is tidally locked to its parent star, which means the same face is always facing it (think how our moon only ever shows one face).  This changes pretty much EVERYTHING compared to Earth.  You have a day side and a night side, and normally this means that only a small livable band is on the middle of the planet, but with a thicker atmosphere a more even temperature can be distributed.  ...But with a thicker atmosphere you're also going to get crazier weather, especially because of this tidally locking, as the wind only blows one way.  Because of this I imagine plants on the planet to always be angled at strange degrees compared to our own, as they desperately point toward the light but the wind whips them around.  The plants would also be jet black, since their sun is red.

The argent (that's the species) have a mythology relating to this, as you can expect.  When pretty much everything comes from the direction of the sun, you're going to hold it in high mythological regard, right?  The argent themselves have tails for balance and two thumbs for ease when gripping things during intense storms.  They live mostly in small communities, as besides the crazy weather compared to Earth, there's also giant predators in their world, so I feel like argent society, despite having fairly modern technology, doesn't have huge, populous cities like we're used to here on Earth.  They mostly settle where they can, usually apart from other communities, and try to build it up defensively.

Despi...would not fare well on Earth I think, haha.  Despite them sticking out like a sore thumb, they've never heard of "day" or "night" before, much less seasons.  The light changing with the time of day would just be SO ALIEN to them!  Not to mention how crowded human towns and cities seem to be!

yanderechips

All of my characters live in the same universe which I named 'comic land' (terrible name, i know.) Which ocs i put in comics stay and live! In the world unnatural hair colors and animal like abnormalitys are normal.

ChocoStarii
there's a fruit juice convention on earth? o:
Also I agree, writing about worlds different than earth is always more interesting :'D
That sounds cool that they can travel to all different worlds o:

MegiW
I'm glad you enjoyed Tim :3
When they appear in other universes, how much are they considered ~the same person~, or are they just AU versions that aren't aware or each other?

Jovian
That sounds pretty awesome, reminds me of a sci-fi documentary I once watched that had a planet that was tidally locked to its parent star like that o:
I can imagine it would be a pretty big shock to come to a planet with day and night and seasons and all that

yanderechips
no worries, my world doesn't have a name at all XD
Do you have the comic uploaded somewhere? o:

MegiW

tim-in-a-box
Oh those are just AU version of them, no 4th wall breaking, no ~same peps~ x)

yanderechips

tim-in-a-box

I have the comic, I don't have it posted anywhere because it's not ready yet and/or I'm not that experienced enough with anatomy.

And its not finished.

Podzol 💗 charmingterror

This man himself, Podzol.

Podzol's world is much more dangerous than ours, dragons run free as well as more dangerous animals. Podzol is a living deity, many pray to him for guidance when needed or safety. If Podzol is ever seen, good fortune will bless the person's way. Podzol's life mostly consists of answering questions and protecting everyone he comes across, even his friend, Nefertiti (who lives in the same world.)
