Ask 5 Questions to the Above Person's OC!

Posted 6 years, 11 months ago (Edited 6 years, 10 months ago) by isopods

I've seen a couple of threads where people can ask OCs questions.  However, I thought it might be interesting if those questions covered more of the character's development without having to post multiple times to receive multiple questions.

Rules and Guidelines

  1. Please comment in-character.  The character you post as will be the next character to be asked five questions.
  2. Once your character is asked the questions from the next poster, please edit your initial comment to answer the questions.
  3. Please ask questions that contribute, at least somewhat, to the character's development.
  4. Please read the character's profile and the person's profile before asking any questions.

1) What exactly makes Alois' existense full of pain and misery?
2) Does Alois actually have a defined personality or does it contradict itself with every interaction, debunking every past personality traits one could have drawn from a previous interaction?
3) Is Alois all-knowing or are there limits? Could Alois know his own fate awaiting?
4) Why is Alois interested in seeing the strong ones bend and break instead of "feeding" of the misery of the already broken?
5) Which exact urges does Alois have and how are they executed? Can Alois resist these urges since Alois is paradox?

Eli Dinlos

1. Has he ever changed someone's truth/reality and the regretted it? Could he do something about it? Would he? Did he?

2.  Is there other people like Enya who know the true him? Now or in the future?

3. Have people he care about seen his darker side? When? How? Did it change his or their perception of him?

4. Has there been any smaller long term consequences of his lies? Does he know about them?

5. What drove him to act like he did as an Architect? When people found him disgusting, why he didn't clean his act?

6. What made him return to Enya after fifteen years?

7. What does the future hold for him in character or ooc?

Some sillies for fun:

- What's the worst apple thing he's eaten?

- What is his proudest gift-giving moment?

- Where is he on this meme?

- What is the ugliest piece of clothing he'd ever seen?

- Does he have any guilty pleasures?

NP: Eli doesn't take himself too seriously, you shouldn't either, so no need to ask super deep questions. :,D I mean, you can. But no pressure to do so.

1. I offer to pay a large amount for one of his paintings, cash in hand, excitedly. What does Eli do?
Eli would sell you his paintings and quickly run with the money before you'd come to your senses. He's shy to show his work but money is money.

2. Eli unexpectedly gets the day off from work, but no one else is available. How does he spend his day?
He'd go to the movie and stuff himself up in sushi buffet and probably text his friends how good everything is but would be so much better if he wasn't alone.

3 Most dangerous magic event he's investigated? On the flip side, LEAST dangerous one?
Least is like 80% of every call he gets. Usually it's like a little pocket of raw magic that just pops causing a mild phenomena. Like one lady's garden flowers changed color according to the song playing in the radio. Most dangerous, though, Eli finds the untrained users the most dangerous. Magic is a tool, so as with any tool people have to learn how to use it, and if they don't they can hurt themselves or the others. At the very top on danger meter is the extremely powerful creatures/people who have no clue how to control their power.

4. How much importance does his appearance have to him?
Appearance in general is very important to him since he's mute and for him his looks are his voice. And he likes to be loud. Does his appearance have to be just as it is? No, it changes as Eli does but it matters to him how he looks.

5 Any type of magic/mage he fears above all?
Eli couldn't do what he does if he was afraid of magic. But anything that alters either time or reality scares him the most. There are things mortals shouldn't touch.

Thank you for your questions! These were great!

1. When it comes to loving cursed things, does that also include liking cursed memes? - Void isn't very familiar with memes, but he would love them.

2. Is there any condition where using magic would be off-limits to him? - Not really. Magic is baked into most things in his world. It would be like using tools or items being forbidden for us - we use objects all the time, just like people in his world use magic all the time.

3. Does he use Discord? What about social media? - Nope. He lives in the wilderness as a druid with Internet, electricity, or many humans or other humanoids.

4. How would he react if a human expressed fear in his presence? - He's kind of used to it. While his kind are known as civil spirit guides, some people are still terrified of them because they are curse-casting undeads from the haunted wilderness.

5. Has he ever got into an argument or an altercation with the undead? - Yup, some ghosts are just violent and angry. Not so much argumentative, but just coming out of the grave absolutely swinging.

6. How is his relationship with his students? Is he good at building connections with them?

Answers under the cut for length! Thank you so much for asking, I really spent a while thinking on some of these.

1. For Kai and Audemus' relationship, what is the most common form of acceptable violence between them? (Props if you can answer if it's sexual or not too)

The way it usually goes is something like this: Audemus is pent up, Kai pushes his buttons by digging into some insecurity or another. Audemus retaliates with a verbal warning, Kai either leaves him be or disregards the warning and continues to push Audemus. Audemus snaps when pushed to his limit and lashes out physically, sometimes accidentally or intentionally killing Kai in the process. Having channeled his anger into something, Audemus is in essence defused and summarily heals/resurrects Kai. At times this counts as some weird, twisted sort of flirting; other times Audemus needs to be alone to cool off for a while.

The other facet of their violence can come into play intimately, but I won’t go into it. What they do is neither safe nor sane, but it is consensual. And Audemus can reverse any and all damage he might do.

Their relationship is monstrous but they are very careful to keep it to themselves. From Audemus’ perspective (though he would never say it): “There is a monster inside of me and Kai feeds it and it grows, and I don't care but I really do. I didn't, not for a long while, but now I wonder if I might not someday be a threat to my family, to Oskar or Atalie.” (He wouldn’t, but he doesn’t know that for certain—that’s where fear comes into play.)

2. What is Audemus' favorite theatrical play? Does it hold any importance to him beyond being just a play?
I don’t actually have any examples of any plays that have been created thus far in the universe that these characters are a part of! The ‘Lowtown theater’ bit was added in as more of an inside joke than anything else, referencing the weird theater scene that Oskar is a fan of. Audemus isn’t a huge theater person (maybe attending one or two Hightown productions per year) but from what he’s heard of the chaos of Lowtown theater shows, he knows he’d never want to attend. They are crowded, rowdy affairs that sometimes involve the unleashing of a literal live goose on stage.

I’m not a theater person either so I can’t say what Audemus would like in terms of our world—only that he would not enjoy Jekyll & Hyde.

3. What is the strangest thing that Audemus said in his pursuit of knowledge in medical necromancy and why was it said?
I’ll admit, this one’s been a real head-scratcher for me. My partner thinks it would be something along the lines of “Pickled liver is far more aromatic than spleen,” or “Formaldehyde is perfume for the deceased.” I suggested, “The soul is irrelevant,” (in a world in which souls are very much real and hold significant sway in basically all forms of spellcasting) or “Flesh is no obstacle to the mind’s will.” None of these are the perfect example, but it’s kind of a ‘sky’s the limit’ sort of deal when it comes to Audemus: engineer a specific enough situation and you could get him saying all sorts of wacky, morbid things.

4. I know it's said that Audemus' doesn't talk about his backstory, has there ever been any point where this has actively hurt him, bet it physically or mentally, or hell even socially?
Audemus’ best friend is a (now) ex-prostitute by the name of Brandy; a woman who saved his life when he was 19 years old. Brandy created what we would call a support group: a club for survivors of various traumatic experiences… one which Audemus would certainly have benefited from psychologically. But because of his crippling inability to talk about his own experiences, he has not joined the group.

At the same time, talking about his experiences has also backfired on him. In confiding in Kai, Audemus unknowingly gave Kai the excuse he needed to outright assassinate Audemus’ noble parents. Kai did this for selfish reasons—Audemus was their sole heir—but he could use a veneer of revenge as justification. Audemus did not want his parents assassinated, nor did he want to take up the title of Lord.

It’s very much a "damned if you do, damned if you don’t" type situation in Audemus’ mind.

5. Has Audemus ever been scared of losing Oskar? If so, what was the event that brought up those feelings?
Oskar, 18, ran home one night with part of his skull beaten in. The assailant was someone Oskar at the time loved and trusted. As a surgeon and healer Audemus was able to save Oskar’s impacted eye—performing emergency surgery on the dining room table—but his injuries not only nearly cost him half his vision, but his very life.

This was a terrifying moment for Audemus: the confirmed realization that Oskar was just as vulnerable as Audemus was at his age. Audemus can struggle with relating to and connecting with other people, but this incident hit a bit too close to home—both literally and metaphorically—and it forced him to try and step up in a way he’d never had to before.

Mild warning for violence beneath the spoiler, but otherwise it's nothing really bad. Absolutely had a blast answering these questions, thanks so much <3

Has he ever been close to being caught for his father's death? Or has he been entirely on the run ever since, evading the law?

Short answer is: It’s a well-known secret that Zach killed his father, but everyone in the small hunting town they were apart of knew that his father was an abusive bastard, so it wasn’t any loss to them.

Long answer: Zachariah was on the run at first, but it was mostly his own fears that put him on the run for that particular crime. He actually encountered a few of his father’s old hunting buddies who alerted him to the fact that everyone sorts of knew he had killed his father, but the question that everyone had was if he had killed the rest of his family as well. Most of the men just wanted to know he was doing well cuz they had grown fond of him as his dad would take him on hunting trips that would often include these men.

Sure there are a few who think that he killed the rest of his family, but ultimately they stick to where they are and so long as Zach stays the FUCK away from them, well he ain’t likely to be shot by them! And even then it’s like 2-3 people who were really close with the OLD version of his father. Once the alcoholism started, it was like a switch was flipped in his father’s brain and he was never the same.

What time period is he living in? There's so much versatility with writing cowboys!

So, for Zach and Amelia I currently have them around the 1860s-1900. So somewhere in that period. I’ve sort of picked around 1866 or so.

Why was he shot in the desert? Did the bandits betray him or did something go wrong?

Short Answer: The leader of the group of outlaws shot him.

Long Answer: So Zach was a really fucked up person when he joined the bandits, he had just recently killed a person and it made him question if he could kill again, and the short answer to that was yes. His time with the outlaws were spent stealing and killing (often needing to kill people who were fatally shot, but ultimately were left for dead by the others, he’d just kill them outright out of mercy.)

Well, the leader of the trope quite fancied this woman, however Zach saw her as an annoyance that was slowing down the group, but ultimately it was another one of the other bandits that took to shooting the pretty thing and Joseph blamed Zach and after a lot of yelling he just outright show Zach and left him for dead. He was shot in the chest and point blank range, but by the grace of gd he managed to survive

Is Amelia a lover to him?

Ehehe! Yes, Amelia in the long run does become his lover, she was his savior and he treasures her deeply, would do anything for her even if that means leaving for good. Their relationship is the healthiest that Zach has ever been apart of, sure they have their ups and downs, but they make it work and that’s what counts.

Has he ever gotten back into contact with any of his siblings? What were his relationships with them?

Sadly his siblings perished at the hands of Zach’s father, but when they were alive he was sort of like their father figure more than he was a brother due to how mature he would act and how he often taught them what he knew (His father thought his siblings weak due to them being sickly) He even taught them how to shoot! He still blames himself for their deaths and often has nightmares about their mutilated bodies.

THESE ARE GOOODDD

1. What exactly motivate her to remain in the team? Is it the youngsters that she feel responsible of mentoring? A sense of ego of being the leader? Or something else entirely?

Tzeitel's is a whole knew crew since everyone else is gone, and she really does enjoy being a mentor and in some cases even a mother figure. She's a very good leader, and she knows she's skilled at it. It's not really an ego exactly, it's more like something she just enjoys. She likes the team environment/dynamic.

2. Has she ever dyed her hair in a different color? If not, has ever considered it, and to change her whole outfit to match?

She totally would, but she's been blonde for a veeeery long time. Her natural hair is black, and that's the only two hair colors she's had. She's definitely thought about other things, but just never did it.

3. Does she actually cry easily, or better at repressing them? If it's the latter, when was the last time that she cried? In her current life stage, what could invoke her tears?

Tzeitel is very good at repressing her emotions, but there are a few circumstances where she'd crack. The last time she had like a good cry was when her and Scarlett split and cut each other off. Most of the other times she cried was when someone she'd known - mainly someone directly in her crew - passed away.

4. In a what-if scenario where Hadassah survived, would her relationship with Scarlett remained? Would there be a possibilty that a different reason be the cause of their split up?

This is interesting to think about because I actually just designed Hadassah and I'm going to be putting her on here soon...I think Scarlett and Tzeitel would've still eventually split, though it'd be later. I'll elaborate a little more with the last question!!

5. How did she grew close to Scarlett in the first place? Were their relationship that compatible? What exactly that made her prefers to remain as just friends with Scarlett before their split up, despite knowing Scarlett's feelings?

Scarlett and Tzeitel were friends as teens, and they grew really close when trying to build up a crew before they actually turned 18 and were able to participate. They have enough different and enough in common to have a very strong relationship, and Scarlett really likes authority figures...
Tzeitel is demiromantic, so she simply just didn't reciprocate Scarlett's feelings, she didn't see her as 'the one' and didn't ever fall in love with her. Tzeitel still hasn't really found a romantic interest. Scarlett actually never properly confessed either, it was something unspoken. Both of them just knew, and they knew it'd be awkward if it was ever brought up.

⬇️ Hi!! These was so fun to answer whoo! Thank you so much! (*^^*)//

1. I'm not too familiar with Homestuck stuff (which is a shame as I've been interested in it for the longest time), so is there an explanation on what the fuschia blood is? Is it common for those who possess this blood caste or type to have an abnormality? Is it a fanmade sort of category, or..?

Fucshia is the highest blood caste in troll society in Homestuck. In canon, all fucshia blood are women, and only one exist at a time, with the heiress eventually challenging the current Empress to a duel for the throne. For my version, there are multiple heirs fighting each other for the throne instead! They are hella overpowered in canon, which is why they are the only caste that can be the ruler; so Mehmet being nerfed is abnormal canon-wise. I want his strength to be his wit and charisma :3c

2. Was there any specific memory that he remembers in terms of being perceived as weak or being looked down upon that stuck to him badly? Was it from someone he was close to? Was what they said struck the biggest chord imaginable?

I haven't fleshed him out too much, but I did based him on how fucshia blood acted in canon. They are emotionally-driven trolls with a notable size of ego. His mistreatments definitely add fuel to his fire, but I like to imagine that even if his upbringing were kinder, he would still turn out as arrogant, maybe the only difference is that he'll more obvious about it instead.

3. Speaking of people close to him - does Mehmet even have anybody he trusts in some way aside from his loyal dog? has he cared for someone in an emotional manner at all or is he quite the selfish person through and through? Is he able to feel more than just... spite?

The second, and only other troll he trust his back too is a friend of theirs, who is a cobalt blood celebrity. Their dynamic is basically ‘mutual destruction’, they have blackmail over one another and can ruin each other with them. They both have trust issues, but having this blackmail materials give the two a sense of safety. If they're going down, at least the other will too. Mehmet doesn't ‘care’ for her, per se; but there is a sense of respect and understanding.

4. Since he seems to enjoy using... creative ways in taking out the heirs, this is going to sound kinda bad LOL but is there any specific method that he remembered the most...?

Definitely the one that takes the longest to accomplish. Mehmet takes great pride in planning out someone's downfall, and would even make a whole timeline and backup and double backup plan for it. I imagine it's the one that involve three phase of ruining someone, start from killing their reputation, then their loved ones and lastly they themselves. It's even more satisfying if the victim take themselves out, the sadistic streak in him would rejoice at it.

5. Does Mehmet's dog have a name, and if so, what is it - or does he refuse to name it just because?

Oh haha, his ‘dog’ is not actually a literal dog. It's his right hand man, Rumeli Horati, whom he treated like a well-trained dog, hence the objectifying term. But really, Mehmet has actually developed feelings for Rumeli, but he doesn't recognize it as what it actually is, and instead treat it as a nuisance, which later on drive him to distant himself from Rumeli by further treating him badly.

tyvm for questions! :]

1. I noticed the use of YOU a lot, are you referring to the reader or someone else entirely? And if possibly (I know this is likely a two sided question forgive me) can you explain the relationship with the individual you're addressing.
I suppose it’s a combination of both. :) At some points in his actual biography, all of its use tend to be towards the reader specifically - but the use of YOU in his playlist indicates someone else; and mostly intersects with the use of HIM in the biography.

2. Speaking multiple languages is a fun thing! Are there any languages particularly that are really hard that he has conquered, or does Kruz find languages to be boringly easy?
He finds a good balance of challenging and easy depending on the language; but never fully difficult! It may be a breeze at some points, but I wouldn’t say it’s so easy it comes across as boring. Though Mandarin is in technicalities his mother tongue, thus making it easier for him to learn (even if this language has to be one of the more difficult ones to learn even just from the writing system itself) - he has found learning about certain dialects to be very challenging as it needs intense immersion in the region it comes from for him to fully learn and adapt, especially Hokkien and Cantonese.

3.Because Kruz doesn't swear often does he come up with other words to use in place of swears? When he DOES swear does it come off as odd, or do people know in that moment that he means business and not to fuck with him?
In terms of swearing, no, he doesn’t substitute other words! He just refrains from using it completely. It’s quite easy for him to be generous with his patience. He’s not much for violent reactions over minor inconveniences, so it’s not really a necessity for him to say - though this doesn’t mean he’d avoid using other vulgar or derogatory terms at all (e.g. he still calls others bastards, etc.) but it flows quite easily with him.

That said, him swearing does not come off as odd as previously mentioned, but indeed it’s correct that it’s enough for people to know that he means business. It’s just as easy for him to lose said patience in an extreme degree no matter how much he seemed to enjoy playing a long slow game of tolerance when it comes to anybody. Trigger that part of him and it’s easy to lose one’s life; and more often than not, this is what pushes him to a small burst of outward frustration, but at best it’s just a click of his tongue accompanied with a sharp, “Fuck,” and that’s the most you can get to hear from him LOL.

4. LMAO I saw his tea thing, who is the person that has got him so knowledgeable in tea? :O
This person is his boss, the owner of Fantasmagorie. Compared to Kruz, he is a big fan of tea instead of coffee, and thus he ends up learning more about it than he thought he’d like to.

5. Who exactly is he?! What is his life before!? I'm so curious!! (If you can't answer this question then move to six as a substitute)
He’s Kruz, of course. :) There is no life before! /jjjj. This is a story for another time. I suppose we can summarize it with the quote, “no good deed goes unpunished”.

6. Who is my love to him, does 'my love' know that Kruz exists?
This person is none other than his boss, Paradox - the sole person he is loyal to and acts as his right hand man for as mentioned in his very first introduction blurb! Yes, he is very much aware that Kruz exists, and if anything, their relationship is quite complicated, like a tangled up ball of thread. Kruz might come off quite desperate for him in his descriptions, but they are closer than one might think - he simply addresses him with hesitation as they seem to mirror each other’s personality very heavily; where a lot is said and yet a lot, too, remains unspoken.
