Jacob was thrilled when he heard about the botany notebooks and the bottles. Richard would just love these! He thought some of the dolls looked a little creepy, but the one in the shiny pink dress with the matching hat caught his eye. The doll actually reminded him of Kelly herself. They had the same curly hair.
I want to do some character building and I cannot figure a better way then to have this antique shop owning, super dramatic, hex crafting mage build character then to have him talk to other characters or answer questions.
"I can see I hit the mark. Now...How about you sir? Can I interest you something?" Argen asks "I mean you are spending soo much on your family why not splurge a bit on yourself?"
"Aw are you sure I can't talk you into buying some figurines? Perhaps an Antique Desk for the Office?" Argen Asks "Buuuuut if you truly got all that you wanted I guess I'll ring you up"
Shoot! Looks like the payout isn't gonna as plentiful...Buuuuuut Argen is still getting money! "Alright some animal statuettes...A Wall Rug...A Porcelain Doll...Some Chemistry Glassware...A Few Botany Books...That comes toooooooooo....33 Gold and 4 Silver Notes."
"I'm sorry," said Jacob finally, "but gold isn't legal tender where I come from anymore. I might not be able to pay."
This had seemed like, well, an unusual shop, but Jacob hadn't figured on the currency being different. He didn't even know what the exchange rate was.
Argen looks at Jacob "Not actual gold...Gold Notes" He says as he pulls one out. It's slip of fiber that is a Dark Yellow with GD on it. He also Pulls out a Greeish slip with BZ, a Light Grey Slip with SV and a Lighter Grey Slip with PT "It's been that way since...waaaaaaait...Waaaaaaaaait where are you from? I think I can correct this."
"Well, I was born in Chicago," said Jacob, "but I've lived in Wisconsin for the past twenty-eight years."
"To be frank," said Jacob, "I don't have a clue what you're talking about. But I'm hoping we can get to some sort of understanding soon. We use dollars where I come from; do you know what those are? If not, I could write you a check." Jacob could only hope that Argen knew about different forms of currency, because he didn't have all the time in the world for a game of twenty questions.
