okay the title probably sounds weird, but what I mean is: characters who have hair-shaped stuff on their head but it's not actually hair. I love designs that have this and am curious to see more.
Torio here IC is an example, they have some kind of blood-like goop instead of hair (it's a thing that is fairly common for their (sub)species). Other examples of stuff instead of hair can be: fins, fire, water, clouds, slime, plants, anything goes as long as it's not actually hair ;3

My elementals all fit! While their hair appears, and often feels like, hair, it's not. It's things related to their elements at some level.
Hestria and Aquaria have concentrated light and darkness for their hair, respectively. Hestria can even make hers light up if needed.
Avani has a very soft moss-like plant covering her head, due to plants being often related to Earth.
Inazuma has a cloud for hair. It feels really dang soft, and doesn't feel like hair like the rest of the elementals. She doesn't really see a need for that.
Una’s hair is all fire since she is part fire elemental. She has enough control over her fire that it won’t burn anything if she doesn’t want it to, or she can make it only warm to the touch rather than blazing hot, but it’s always at least warm and slightly illuminating. It burns brighter and changes color depending on how active she is, and it can mellow out to an almost-hairlike consistency if she’s mostly idle or if she gets it wet, but it never really goes out or ever stops burning entirely even if she’s submerged in water.
