How does your character smile?

Posted 5 years, 1 month ago (Edited 5 years, 1 month ago) by sableward

Is it a wide smile? Reserved? Is it toothy or is it all in the eyes? Do they have laugh lines from smiling a lot? Are they self conscious about it?

Are they hopeful smiles, or is there something else behind them? Are they self-conscious about their smile? Are their smiles contagious or are they awkward, kinda creepy when forced smiles?

Has your character got a full set of chompers, or are there some (or all, even) missing?

Tell me all about their smiles here :-)

PS. Not sure if this is a thread yet but here's a little character question for y'all.

Cary Pavlina denishdraws

they rarely show expression, they smile like few second and come back to neutral face

Maggie Harp TheGreatStatic

She has some pretty bad teeth, but they've held up surprisingly well considering she lives in a post-apocalypse and you don't really stumble across toothpaste and surplusses of clean water that often there.  She always smiles super-wide! This also applies to when she forces smiles--making them creepy and generally... not fun. You can tell very easily if she's being legit.

I also tend to draw her with blood on her upper lip, particularly if she's eaten recently. Cannibalism on the spot like happens in Fallout can not be clean business--and that is infinitely easier and less creepy to draw than the actual amount of blood that'd come from that.

 📿Moth📿 Squishitaur

A big sneaky grin. You know he is hiding something or doing something he shouldn't when he smiles.

Blair Shadowzim777

Probably like this...

Desmond Lockhart XxmisamurderxX

He smiles with his mouth closed and it usually looks more like a smirk than anything, but his eyes are usually never smiling along with his mouth unless he's actually happy :'D

ALPHA selenite

She smiles with her mouth closed, and her smiles tend to be reserved. She is usually serious so she doesn't let it out often, but you can tell she means it when her eyes soften.
Sometimes when she is girlbossing she'll smile, but it's a very cool, dry expression that doesn't last long. She only shows teeth and hardens her smile when she's confident and also feeling a little aggressive, which is rare.

Meanwhile, her girlfriend Charlie has very warm, welcoming smiles. He default expression is a gentle smile, and she's rather cheery so she may grin openly or beam at whoever she's talking to.

Zakka SapphireBatWings

She has a very excitable person and her smile is either mischievous, brazen, or just pure delight.

 Asphodel sableward

asphodel has never smiled once in her life shut up this is not a phase-

just kidding, but she's not much of a 'smiler'. she's very cynical and choleric, but she does care about her family amongst other things; she just tends to hide it behind an apathetic/tsundere exterior. idk how to describe it without sounding like a weeb, but 'tsundere' is the kind of vibe im going for lol. but like... in general, rather than a romance focused thing. a sweetheart in denial or something.

her smiles, when she's not hiding them or sneering, are small and her fangs tend to poke out. she's more likely to smirk with this little fanged hint of sharpness. a real smile tends to involve her full face, but again, she tries to hide that sort of thing. too much #openness or something.

i only received this character today so this might change. these are just initial thoughts/headcanons tho
