pretty much just like his icon! he can and does smile in a more "normal" and friendly way but he's just a bastard who likes to scare people, so teeth it is
Is it a wide smile? Reserved? Is it toothy or is it all in the eyes? Do they have laugh lines from smiling a lot? Are they self conscious about it?
Are they hopeful smiles, or is there something else behind them? Are they self-conscious about their smile? Are their smiles contagious or are they awkward, kinda creepy when forced smiles?
Has your character got a full set of chompers, or are there some (or all, even) missing?

PS. Not sure if this is a thread yet but here's a little character question for y'all.
- Gus' smiles always look a little terse because he forces himself to smile with his mouth closed to hide his vampire teeth. On a slightly different note, he tends to smile insufferably wryly whenever he's being a wise-ass - a few people may have come really damn close to decking him for that a few times.
- Jaime has a pretty similar pain-in-the-ass smile when she's trying to be a smartass, but otherwise has a wide, toothy grin to match her fiercely energetic personality.
- ElliotĀ also shows a lot of teeth while smiling - unlike Gus, he really doesn't mind putting his vampire fangs on full display and reacts with glee to actually getting a reaction out of people with that.Ā
- AbsalomĀ almost never smiles, but when he does it's actually surprisingly sweet, gentle and oddly innocent, the kind of smile that makes his eyes sparkle (and his boyfriend swoon, lol).
- Speaking of: Severin. Runs the gamut from "mysterious mystery smile" to "big ol' goofy grin", which rather ruins his aesthetic. Thankfully, nobody ever told him.
- Evander: A typical "popular hot dude" grin, all open and sunny and stock-photo-esque. No sinister reason behind it or anything, either - his face just works like that.Ā
- Nick pretty much doesn't smile - and unlike Absalom, who just doesn't emote very much, Nick's just a big ol' grump.Ā
- Orephoron: Surprisingly expressive face, and a wide, sincere smile to match. Makes him look far more bubbly and cute than he'd be comfortable with, so he doesn't smile a lot - at least not where people can see it.Ā
Mingfeng's eyes will slowly half-close, and he'll erupt into a toothy grin (it's mostly if he's blushing or if he's complimented)
as being part shark, coop is very proud of his pearly whites (and one shimmering gold tooth) so he gives quite a big smile !
This is honestly such a cute thread though. I had to do a lil extra for this one.
Axo is a xylenxian alien, so he has two sets of jaws with sharp teeth. He has a toothy smile, but itās usually a timid-looking one. Heās very friendly despite his appearance. :)
Zog has two main types of smiles. One is a grin showing teeth (generally a more sadistic and chaotic type of expression). His other less common one is a bashful kind of closed-mouth smile that he only makes when heās feeling genuinely content and happy. Ā
Kugelblitz is a malfunctioning droid, so he doesnāt seem to be entirely āthereā mentally. He, almost constantly, has a big Cheshire Cat-like grin. Heās unpredictable and can also be very annoying.
Celeste has a VERY cute smile. Most of the time, It's a small, Timid one, But when she's REALLY happy it's extremely wide and she tends to close her eyes while doing so. I have some art of it (That I didn't draw) that I think shows this off well!
Epsilon's smile is more of a sly smirk most of the time. When he properly smiles he tends to show off his teeth while doing so. I think this image (That again, I didn't draw) Illustrates it best! Chaos space gremlin, Naturally, Has a smile to match.
Nova VERY rarely smiles, But when she does her smile looks similar to Celeste's! They ARE sisters, After all! I actually have an example as well, And this time I actually DID draw it, Albeit it's a bit messy since I sketched this while on art block.
Erebus's smile is... Something. It's VERY toothy and, Most of the time, His gums are visible. His smile is almost NEVER sincere and is actually used more to scare the shit out of others. It doesn't help that his mouth is filled with an abnormal amount of razor-sharp teeth. And, Unlike both his daughters, It is the OPPOSITE of cute.
Since Bastet is an alien who's jaw splits in two, Her smile tends to be a bit strange looking. She tends to avoid smiling too wide because she knows that it freaks some people who aren't her own race out.Ā

His smile is creepy. Itās meant to evoke more of a snarl than happines. Heās almost constantly grinning in some way, even at the worst of times, and when he does an open mouthed smile he tends to do it very slowly and weirdly, slowly exposing his teeth. Like this:Ā
Terrifying! Despite his cheerful and loving interior his exterior doesnt match. He is a being of nightmares so his smile splits all the way to the back of his head :)
Dont be afraid though! Hes a sheep in wolfs clothing. He may look scary but is one of the kindest shapeshifters you will ever meet
This is a very cool thread! It got me thinking about things I probably wouldn't have otherwise. Anyway it made me think about Bee, who by default has a pretty passive smile (featured in basically every image in their gallery) but a big proper grin is pretty rare for them. Even when they're really happy they're not really one to outwardly show it and they don't really laugh either (unlike their best friend Cab who is a very smiley boy)
