With that usual pep in her step, Dolores ran her fingers through her hair and chirped, "Well, if I have to be honest with you, I haven't seen anything relating to film in such a long time! I've always been a bit more of a book person, but... Obviously..." She chuckled sheepishly while gesturing at the hallway... Which just so happened to be conveniently cloaked in shadow. How nice. "... I don't have a lot of books with me at the moment. A lot of things are expensive up in these mountains, so I really can't afford to be that extravagant now, mm? I don't want to be cheap, but..."
The old woman paused to chew her lip. Admittedly, just confessing to that was a bit cheap in of itself. What was she trying to do - get pity points!?
... Money's still a bit of an issue, at least some of the time, she wanted to add but didn't, instead opting to hum with a sunny smile, "I sort of have to focus on paying for rent, utilities, and food when I can, yes? But I hope you're able to have a nice stay up here nonetheless, sir! How about that?" Left unmentioned was the blizzard that was currently swirling about outside, but it's fiiiiiiiiiine. That was a bit too normal up in the highlands, and Dolores really didn't what the merit was in pointing out the obvious.
"Or, well, make yourself comfortable," the older woman suggested to the youth with a slightly sheepish trill, "Whichever one fits better for you." Well then. The elder then dawdled over to the kitchen stove while humming, "Besides, I'd hate to interfere too much with your filmography, sir. I believe I've mentioned this before, but a lot of artists and fellow humanities majors come up here for the views. Such views tend to be rather sparse at times thanks to the snow, but... A lot of the lowland folks tend to worship the snow as this exotic beauty, huh? I mean, I hate to sound like a highlander when I'm really not, but... Well..."
Then she paused. Well then, again.
Now starting to laugh nervously, Dolores exclaimed, "... I’ve been living here for a few years! You get used to it over time, really…”, before lifting the lid for her pot of soup and giving it a sniff. Oh, chicken stock… “So, don’t worry if this is still a bit foreign to you,” she attempted to reassure the youth with a hum, “It’s a slow process. I’m still learning, and… Well… I assume that it fits you since you’re currently studying film, yes?” She cocked her head after opening a cupboard to pull out some bowls. “What’s that like? Being a student, I mean? Are you planning to stay here for long for your film?”
She also wanted to ask a bit more about his fashion choices, especially since they didn’t exactly seem to change from the last time she met him, but… Again, Dolores remained silent on that. It was probably for the best, in all honesty… One probably didn’t want a nosy elder asking all sorts of questions after having to trek up a rocky mountain slope, after all!
