Ask The OC Above About Another OC!

Posted 3 years, 3 months ago (Edited 3 years, 3 months ago) by PolarisStorm

Okay, I've had this idea for a while, but I didn't know if I could put it out in text right. Well, I can try, at least!

So, basically, your OC asks the OC above them asks something about another OC that the person above owns. The question can be nearly anything! Just keep in mind that the OC above may or may not actually know much about the specific question.

So, anyway, rules:

  1. Important things first, no NSFW at all. I can't mature block this. Keep my Nachtkrapp eyes pure, please!
  2. Sensitive/triggering content is allowed, but must be blacked out or in a spoiler box. If you're not sure, it's better to be safe than sorry.
  3. I highly suggest to people that they put, at the very least, what universe/storyline their character is in, if any! This is to avoid someone asking about an OC from a completely different universe that the above OC has literally no idea about.
  4. As already stated, the question must be about an OC that the above person owns! So don't ask the above person about one of your OCs or about a completely random character that you found somewhere.
  5. Questions and answers should both be IC! As in, the character is asking, not you, and likewise with answering.
  6. That being said, I'm not going to require answers, as I know how stressful follow-ups can be sometimes. However, they are highly recommended, as it's part of what makes the game fun!
  7. Don't be rude! Rude OCs are okay, but I won't tolerate people being rude OOC.
  8. Please wait for at least 2 replies or 24 hours to go by before responding again.
Alright! If this goes IC, please ignore it. The first person who posts can get a freebie! If nobody posts in an hour or two, I'll throw one of my babies in the fray.

Lowkey wheezing at that 4-way snipe we started with, not gonna lie.

Kell Ezradi duckjeans

Kell was never one for visitors. They struggled with conversation and their tone seemed to give others the impression that they were a bitter sort of person -- which, don't get them wrong, they are bitter -- but at times like this, they wanted to try, to pretend they were better at this than they were. Kindness went so far, even if it meant stepping out of their shell and reaching out to someone else. They had offered Gentaro a place to stay as he was traveling, at least for a night or two, though their hangar wasn't exactly a ritzy place to be; it was dingy and buzzed with dim light, overwhelmed by stray machinery parts scattered about the floor. Kell nudged a piece of scrap metal aside as they approached Gentaro, carrying with them a warm meal. They'd clean all this up later.

"Here," they said as they held the plate out to Gentaro. "I'm, uh... not a good cook. Sorry."

It made for a decent meal, at the very least. Plus, it was the hospitality that mattered, not the taste, right?

They sat across from him, only holding a mug of tea in their gloved hands. Eating was a hassle to them, something they often skipped, so they settled for letting Gentaro eat as they sipped away at their drink. As they sat in silence, Kell scrambled for a conversation piece. It was always difficult for them, and they could blame that on their father's overprotective nature if they cared a little more, but for now, they pinned it on their own awkwardness. Think, Kell, think -- what the hell was there to talk about? Gentaro had mentioned his family earlier -- maybe something about that?

Offering him a forced smile, they asked, "So... how is... your daughter? What's her name? You said it earlier, I don't remember -- oh, Koito. What's she like?"

Dead. Not that Kell would know that -- and as soon as they'd find that out, they'd feel absolute terror for even bringing it up. Whoops!

there's a lovely list of relationships at the bottom of kell's profile, but they generally know everyone in this folder! take your pick.  (DANNDRAA IM SHAKING HER AROUND!!!!)

Putting it bluntly, Danndraa freaked Kell out.

Three arms -- one pockmarked with open smiles, another one beastlike -- and long, gaping scars in place of an eye; she had an unearthly countenance the likes of which Kell had never encountered before, something terrifying and inhuman. When she addressed them, they flinched, their mien temporarily caught off guard. They didn't want to show her any moment of weakness; goddesses know how she'd use that to her advantage.

They waved away a plume of smoke that came from her scars, brow furrowed as the sorceress spoke; the many mouths on her arm grinned at them, distracting their anxious focus. If they were braver, they'd ask about... well, everything about Danndraa, really; but their mouth was wired shut and their eyes were wide and wary, a beetle caught in Danndraa's spiderweb left powerless to do anything but comply with her questions.

Kell studied the smoke-trail drawing of the doctor. They did not know him, but they knew of him. Most everyone did; they thought he was a prophet, but there was nothing to that claim other than nationwide gratitude for his deeds. He was powerful, intelligent, all the good things -- things which Kell cared little for. They had heard stories of him from time to time, but hadn't everyone?

"How should I know?" They said with a lilting edge, careful not to inhale smoke. The smell disgusted them. "He built some stupid generators, got rich from it, and died. That's it. No dirt to speak of."

Glowering, they swiped a draft of smoke away from their face. "Why does it matter to you anyway? You don't... look like someone who'd care about him."

Danndraa ProfessionalDumbass

"SO!" Danndraa fell into the plush chair, her long golden bird pipe burning a faint multi-colored smoke. But as the raven-haired woman took a looooooooooooooong toke from the pipe, the smoke leaked out from the two long slits across her face. With a shiver, the sorceress gave a wide toothy smile to the young pilot. The sort of smile that would often be accompanied by fangs and venom

"I'm doing a little...." Danndraa made a turning motion with her clawed hand as if her thoughts were escaping her as she said them. "Background check. On an unknown man, no real reason, obviously. Just a pet project started by a few friends of mine and me who were just- VERY curious." Danndraa shoved the tip of her pipe toward Kell in an accusatory manner. The smile only growing, the many mouths on her pipe hand following her lead. Toothy smiles all glaring RIGHT at them. "We MUST learn all the dirt you have on.......well"

Danndraa snaps with her third hand. The smoke of the pipe swirling into an image of Dr Gara. "Oh- it seems I was mistaken, not an unknown figure! Someone very present in the public eye it seems...WELL? Spill it, dear Pilot. What is something that could RUIN this man"

NP: everyone HERE is up for grabs

N'arfi TwizzlyTwist

(Breaking time and lore because i want this conversation to happen.)

The young viera’s face was filled with joy, almost to a creepy degree. “I knew it!” He slammed his fist into the table, where Danndraa was sitting, legs crossed and holding a cup of tea. “I knew that I saw you many years ago in that alleyway but you disappeared out of thin air, like you were never there at all!” Everyone had played it off as just kids having a big imagination, but the viera knew better.

Either way, he had guts to approach the Tzeentch witch on his own and he could tell that she was dangerous so his hand hovered over his weapon. The old man was so secretive about his work that N’arfi didn’t know much of it but he had snuck into his office and read a bunch of paperwork he wasn’t meant to see. The irony of the late teen being able to track her down quite easily. If only Valnier had known that vieras are sensitive to magic signatures and well- Danndraa must have been a beacon. “I don’t know what the old man plans for you.”

N’arfi looked as stern as a teenager with a soft face could be, his ears angling backwards in slight aggression.

“Tell me what it is that you want with him! How do you know him?”

Np: Anyone in my FFXIV folder works!

Maribelle had caught him really off guard with this type of questioning. "You have the right of it, mostly. It really started far earlier in my life. My hometown was under constant threat from the empire so they trained everyone from a young age. I wasn't very good at it back then but as everyone else, I was willing to throw my life away to protect our home... I guess I still do that. She hasn't managed to get that habit out of me yet." The viera fiddled nervously with his hair, as if he was almost embarrassed to admit this. "I.. may have gone and.. battled in that arena myself, for the fun of it. There are so few of my kind that she, as is her wont, grew suspicious when the news spoke of a male viera participating.." He cleared his throat, wanting to move away from that topic slightly.

"However, she's absolutely ruthless when it comes to training and will make you fall over and over until you get it right. She has gotten older but I do struggle to keep up when we spar so whoever pisses her off better pray to the twelve." Though, N'arfi's self-sacrificing nature had gotten a lot worse lately as even his mother had started to get worried, telling him to pick up a shield for once in his life if he keeps getting himself hurt.

Maribelle Burnett Vapor

"I presume that the old paladin -- you know the one, the woman -- is the one who took you in." For a second, Maribelle looked to N'arfi's face, searching for any change of expression. She didn't keep it up for long, however, quickly moving on to remark on the aforementioned paladin. "I've heard tales of her, just rumors as far as I'm concerned, specifically that of her gladiatorial pursuits... you know. The ones in the past, I think. The combat seems as alluring as it is forbidden..."

"Do you think her interest in it might have influenced you, though?" she then asked, "I'm only saying, but you're also not known as the type of person to go easy on himself. Might it be that you only took after her in the... combative... sense? Techniques, that is, not as much attitude -- unless that also applies."

"..Well, what I mean to ask, just-- just to put it more simply: would you say that she is more levelheaded in battles as compared to you? What could you have possibly taken from her, fighting-wise?"

@ NP: Maribelle has links to characters she knows on her profile. Please ask only about them!

PicklePantry help me I am on mobile.

Maribelle breathed slowly, in and out, before at last turning away from the guards. She had equipment to put away and scrapes to tend to, but didn't expect questions from the king. Resigned once again to politeness, she was quiet for a long time.

..Yeah, did he look a little familiar?

No way. That homeless guy Noel took care of couldn’t possibly be a king, this wasn't a fairytale... but what if... she narrowed her eyes at En. Who was to say he didn't have mistresses..? Multiple wives?

"Who I grew up with..." Maribelle echoed the question, and then stopped again at the last. This proved something, didn't it? She watched him carefully as she responded, her voice as monotonous as ever. "I was nursed in Duruta until I was three years old, at that point I was rewarded to Lord Alkaev. He was my father." She moved on quickly to the next man. "Noel was his uncle. He killed him and kidnapped me, and when he also passed, I was given his cloak as a keepsake... it's really so simple." She wasn't sure whether to delve into anymore intricacies, no doubt she loved Noel, but... "He did his best to care for me, up until then. I think. But now, I am in service to General Fuchs. He's known me for so long, he may as well be another... figure... never mind it. My apologies, Your Grace. I meant to clean the courtyard..."

En Litari II ([King En]) PicklePantry

En watched Maribelle train with a few of the guards outside of the castle. Something gnawed on him, something he couldn't push back any longer. She was familiar. He felt like he'd met her before, yet that feeling was also associated with... him. From decades ago. He kept dismissing it as some kind of Mandela effect, or that that girl only looked similar, but then a thought had occurred to him recently. Buried far below the castle was a hidden chapel, and inside it was a massive door said to be a portal to wherever its user desired, be it the future, a different dimension, to the gods themselves.

     Or to the past.

En had only seen the Sealed Door once long, long ago, so he knew it was real and that its powers were no joke. He knew that his father had sealed the door long ago to keep it from blurring every world together. Was it possible that somehow, someway traces of time leaked through? Or was that possibly some incoherent rambling from a writer desperately trying to make things make sense for the sake of getting to post in-in a type of writing game? They were thoughts that kept him up at night.

"Maribelle," the king ushered. It was time to figure out the answer. How to word it, though... "Who did you grow up with?" He paused. "I mean... Did you ever know someone by the name of Noel? Big and wore a black cloak like yours?"

You can reply to any version of him! You could even ask him about those versions, or you can ask him about anyone! Chances are that he knows all my characters one way or another

(CACKLE poor hopper. gimme a minute to write a response!)

Darrius Gildroth SpiritdragonRyuu

(En meets a polite snake boy ^.=.^ )

"Thank you for the opportunity to meet with you, your highness." Darrius said as he bowed his head in respect. "Eclipse informed me that you had questions about my homeland, the Isle of Velantay; but before we continue I must inform you, I'm afraid I may have scared one of your other guests by accident on my way here." The Naga rubbed the back of his neck.

"I didn't catch a name, but he was a gentleman with long black hair and a beard which had been twisted into a braid which had a green streak in it; he was observing the pond in the courtyard and when I said hello, I seemed to have startled him quite a bit, though I do believe my snake like body was a bit of a shock to him, so I'm not surprised by his reaction."

Darrius shifted his coils slightly. "May I ask what his name is and what the best form would be to send my apologies to him, I wish to apologise for scaring him and I feel that seeing him face to face again will only distress him more; which is not my intention." After hearing that En would see to it, Darrius gave a grateful smile and a nod. "Thank you, your highness."

Now that the Naga thought about it, the stranger he had scared seemed to have black circles under his eyes, was the man sleeping enough? Did he struggle getting to sleep? He shook the thought off, those questions would have to wait for another day, right now he concentrated on the task at hand and followed En to help inform the king about his homeland.

------------------------------------------------------------

Darrius mainly knows Eclipse and Wraith (details of their relationships can be found on the relationship sections on all three of their profiles). Darrius has probably heard of my other characters to in some form, but he knows Eclipse and Wraith the best.

Alessa Hannigan Bluesulfur

Hannigan reclines in her seat, lazily taking a drag of her cigar as she curiously examines the naga, she'd seen reptillian creatures before, but the snake-tail torso was definitely a first for her.

"So you can look into minds as well hm? oh? how do i know? well I heard your little shifter friend with the scars mention it. she gestures broadly around her face, referencing the shifter's scarring

"you know, i would be pretty mad if i got my privacy invaded like that, where im from its considered a real social faux pas, he could hold a lot of resentment... do you ever worry he could possibly turn on you you? it could be more likely than you think. "  she remarks without much thought, a somewhat antagonistic, fanged smile creeping across her face

----

Hannigan knows all of the other characters in her folder <3

----

"Well" A sly smile creeps across her face

"He doesn't look like much, but that neurotic little pastor is a very... interesting specimen, he'd jump at the opportunity to stab me in the back, i'm certain. but he's great at killing things and is fun to piss off. So i'm glad i forced him to stick around with me these last hundred years."

she leans back, seeming to ponder for a moment, carefully mulling over her next words

"As for the fledgling..... i must admit, i thought her sire was an idiot for turning such a sad excuse of a human over to the undead... but i've seen her fight. she's not completely useless. but my god is she a pushover."

Commander Hazm MeowMeow422

Qayid clasps both hands behind his back, stance polite but formal. He gives a toothy smile. He quietly mumbles, "A vampire huh?"

The wolf whistles as if impressed. But his eyes are sharp and wary. His paws trace a concealed weapon, and the man relaxes a little. "What's the dynamic between you and that Edmund person? You seem rather close."

A pause, ears tilting, before Qayid adds, "And the other one; Talon I think? What's your business with each other?"

Charlemagne maskofpoppies

"A wolf and a fox, eh?" Charlie snickered and tilted his head. "I hear that your species' are supposed enemies.. how do you and that 'Rubio' guy get along?"

His gaze trailed off as he went on. "You seem so.. serious and uptight, I can't imagine a guy like you would ever agree with a guy like him." He laughed. "It sucks, doesn't it?"

there is an au where every single one of my characters somehow knows each other, i can compare it best as a work place with "co-workers", so feel free to ask him about anybody. or, you can ask about his family members: yazmine (mother), corbyn (father who died when charlie was a child), pagan (pet/familiar thing), darko (uncle)

Lawrence Rosenberg Vapor

"Your parents..." Lawrence was quiet for a moment, watching Charlie's face carefully for any change of expression -- not that he expecting it, knowing how collected the other man was on the surface. "I understand it probably wasn't easy to have grown up missing one, but... if you don't mind my fair prying, how did your mother handle such a thing? ..Of course, I am deeply apologetic to her in particular, assuming they were close, but in what ways do you think... it might have influenced her? His death?"

"..And what of your father? Of everything -- and this is more a personal fascination of mine, it could also go as a question about your mother again -- what do you think you might have inherited from the both of them? This isn't only appearance-wise, of course. Do you think you might have picked up traits or your general demeanor from either of them, be it nature or nurture?"

@ NP: Lawrence has links to characters he knows on his profile. Please ask only about those with links! [You can also ask about Remei she's . just vibing with him now I'm just too lazy to add her]

fruit.

"Ah, Casimir?" Lawrence smiled, though for a moment he seemed lost in thought. He knew what he liked about Casimir. They were similar in ways -- albeit Lawrence was certainly a lot calmer than his husband -- but his favorite trait of his..? "More than anything, I think he's resilient. You know, he is stronger than he lets on, though he's... he's had his time to settle. He's been through a lot. I don't blame him for some things... although I do appreciate how blunt he is. Is that strange?"

"..But, we plan on making it last. Going fast, going slow, whatever it takes -- I do love him, and I want to be with him. I feel like the most important thing to us isn't just date nights and all -- though there's a lot of those -- but... he's spontaneous. But he doesn't like surprises. Following those boundaries, does that make sense?"

Alcott Northwind PicklePantry

"You and your husband seem very happy. That's good. Not too many people can even start their marriage on a happy note." Spoken from experience. Alcott breathed in his cigarette and blew out a stream of smoke. "What are things you both do to stay happy and supportive? Regular date nights? Little acts of love? What would you say is your favorite thing about him?"

Here are his links, but you can really ask him about any of my characters! Chances are he'll at least know of them.

"I don't think the kids would care except that I was with a man," Alcott shrugged in the middle of lighting his cigarette. He eyed Ren while breathing in. "We're not teenagers (though he acts it sometimes), it's not like we try to shove each other into lockers. We ended things on good terms. We chat, get lunch now and then." Something flashed across his face for a second. It looked like it wasn't his idea to break up.

Five 99centsoda

(lol whoops im a braindead moron let's try this again :'3)

"So what's with you and the princess you got stuck with ya?" Five cocks his head to the side. Alistair didn't seem unhappy in his situation, Five had served as his bodyguard while Ren was out, bodyguard duty is what he was good at, but it was odd to him. "What's he to you? You don't look related."

Rivers Vaccaro ap0calypse-weekend

“Did something happen between you and Four to strain things?” Rivers asks, he seems concerned about it. “I’m sorry if something did.” He frowns a bit, staring intently at Five.

feel free to pick anyone from his folder! Even if they’re not explicitly stated in his relationship section he should know enough about them to give you an answer (Just as a warning, most of the characters in his relationship section are canon characters from Fallout if you decide to look there)

—-

“Well yeah, she knows nearly everything about me, or at least as much as I can remember and I know nearly everything about her.” Rivers began explaining “I don’t know what I would do without her honestly, not sure if she feels the same but I can’t imagine what it’d be like if she hadn’t been in Goodsprings the day I finally woke up.” He paused “She’s been through a lot, I mean she’s lost everything she had. We were both failed from the start I think, everyone was.” Rivers shifted around, looking up at K, “But to answer your question, yeah we share our secrets and our problems. It’s rare to be able to do that out in the Mojave but hey I got pretty lucky.”
