Cookie N. cream Joey-D-yvern

The elevator jerked and stopped. Yep, this is fine. He began to lick his paws.

"Wow, great choice... I told you to take the stairs." Greyson remarked. The hat snickered.

Cookie was almost finished grooming himself when he noticed the other in the elevator. He froze and his fur fluffed up. His right paw twitched, indicating he was prepared to strike. He appeared quite confident but, as indicated by his fluffed up fur he is terrified.

"so, uhhh... how are you?"

Cornelius flashed Cookie a grin. Cookie's paw twitched even more. He was going to smack the vampire.

"Do it kitty," Greyson laughed.

Armageddon PicklePantry

Armageddon stared at the numbers that changed with each floor the elevator passed. He remembered when these first came out, how bizarre it felt to just stand while you moved. Technology is pretty crazy. And to think of how far these came when they were first made. He could remember them shuddering and breaking all the time!
The elevator shook for a brief second, the lights flickering before going out.
Yup, just like that.
The demon sighed. The hell? What crappy luck, and it's been persistent ever since he ran into a kid and made him drop his oranges.
Armageddon walked to the closed doors, grabbing at the edges and trying to pry them open so he could climb out. At least, that was his plan until he smelled something funny.
Was that... a cat...?
He sniffed the air quizzically, then turned around, red eyes practically glowing in the dark as he zoned in on the small critter against the corner. Now how long had that cat been there? "The hell you doin' here, kid?" Armageddon asked as he got closer to Cookie, raring his fangs.

Hayato thegrumpydruid

Hayato steps into the elevator, the man's distaste for modern, Western clothes was very apparent as he was wearing a very traditional kimono, looking like he had just stepped out of a samurai history book. He stares at the numbers, trying to remember which one Jeremy pushed to go down. His hand darted out, finger jabbing what was hopefully the correct one.

His hand moves to grip the handrail so hard that his knuckles turn white. The big metal boxes suspended by cables drove the man's anxiety sky high. If he was raised with them, it'd likely be no problem. The highest he had ever been was in a tree in his lord's castle, and that was to shoot down at invaders with a bow.

He glanced at the other man in the elevator, nodding in greeting to him, staying quiet to try and stay calm. When the elevator reached a grinding halt with a few odd noises and the lights flickered, only then did the man ever emit a noise... And it was a noise of pure distress. Now does Hayato actually speak, his English not the best, but he's trying his hardest, "I have been trained in the way of the sword since I was a boy, I can not be phased on the battle field, this... No. I want my feet back on the ground."

The poor man nearly fainted when the elevator jarred back to life, true terror in the warrior's eyes.

Nikolai Byko PicklePantry

Nikolai raised an eyebrow as he stared at Hayato. He hadn't seen a fashion like that in literal decades- never, if you counted fashion in this country. He was vaguely reminded of an old samuraii movie he had seen last night. Was that what that man was hoping to attain? Or perhaps a cosplayer like his nerdy grandson?
Before he could ask, the elevator shuddered to a stop. The Sin sighed as he looked around. "Rather nice, isn't it?" he half-joked with Hayato. "Well, since we'll be here a while, dearie, why don't you tell me a bit about yourself, hmm?"

Beth (Elizabeth) Takenaka honeyshuckle

"Okay. Stay calm." This was more to herself than anyone else, but this was the first time an elevator had ever malfuctioned for her. "Staaay calm. Um... so uhh... I got an idea, how about you, boost me... and we see if there's like, a door in the top or... shit, I don't know. I really don't know, but I have places to be and... you probably do too. If you help me, I'll help you. Please. I can't stand being trapped."

Sol Nocturne

Sol stood right in front of the elevator doors, his left eye twitching and his finger tapping impatiently on his forearm with his arms crossed. This is why he didn't like using these things. Man-made items were a chore and on top of that, he was trapped in an elevator with a human standing behind him leaning against the wall who made no sound at their current situation. The deity moved his head slightly to the side, observing the human with narrowed eyes. She appeared to be relatively calm, her expression nonchalant and without a bother.

He wasn't usually this impatient. In fact, he was a rather level-headed person himself, but being constrained inside of a small area made him remember things that he surely, did not want to remember. Noticing his breath beginning to stagger, the deity shut his eyes closed, his brows furrowing as he stood extremely still for the next few minutes.

Beth seemed to have picked up on the subtle change in his behavior. However, despite her relatively calm attitude on the outside, she felt extremely panicked on the inside. This man appeared to be quite serious himself, she had the impression that he wouldn't appreciate any of her small chit-chat. So she got straight to the point.

"Is there an emergency button we can press?" She says in a reserved tone.

"It doesn't work. Don't you think I would've tried that already?"

"Oh" Beth hushed herself at his defensive tone, internally cursing at herself for such an obvious question. Instead of attempting again, she peered her attention towards Sol's feet, which appeared to adopt a tiny shaking.

This time, the silver-haired boy spoke first, taking Beth by surprise. "Is there anyone you can call?"

Beth noticed the weakness in his voice that adopted a slightly gentler tone. "Uh- no. I don't have a phone on me. How about you?"

Sol clicked his tongue, closing his eyes harder. "I don't."

"You don't have a phone? or-"

"I don't have anybody to call."

Beth's lips parted slightly, unsure of what she should say next. In the next moment, she couldn't help but be reminded of her own past- her parents, her escape from home. Maybe it was something like that for this person, too. Instead of pressing on it, though, she remained silent as the two of them waited for help to arrive.

Dragon PicklePantry

As Sol stood at the front of the doors impatiently, Dragon stayed huddled against the corner. He nervously tapped the tips of his fingers together as he eyed the other person. He couldn't really understand it, but he could feel something powerful about the man. Who was he? Was he friendly? He didn't look too friendly...
As if on cue, the deity snapped his head to shoot him a quick glare. Dragon stiffened and quickly looked away, his cheeks turning as red as his changing eyes. Before any kind of interaction could be sparked between the two, the elevator shuddered and came to a halt. Panicked and confused, the demon looked around, whimpering as the lights flickered. Oh no, they weren't moving anymore! How long would they be here? Would anyone help? O-Or would he-he-?
Whimpering, Dragon sank to the floor and wrapped his arms around his knees, crying helplessly.

WHEEZE that was ADORABLE YES LET THEM BE FRIENDS PLS

Coriander L'Espoir Blanc dogstarlite

(cue me rereading Dragon's bio like boy Cori should totally befriend him 👀)

He wasn't entirely sure what he came to this building for, at first. It was just another impulse, a faint pull that led him to walk here. But entering the apartment hadn't been enough; he had the feeling he needed to go up... somewhere. So Coriander entered the elevator and chose, at random, one of the highest floors. The elevator moved up one and stopped to let somebody else on: a young man wearing an oversized sweater. Coriander flashed him a smile and the boy shyly looked away.

"Hello," he ventured, and Dragon softly echoed the greeting. The doors closed and the elevator began to move again. He took a moment to ponder if he should say more; some humans, he'd come to find over his time here, simply preferred not to talk to strangers. That was fine. He wouldn't want to make anybody uncomfortable.

And then the elevator grinded to a halt. "Oh, dear," Cori murmured as the lights began to flicker. He'd been in elevators a few times before, and this had never happened. Something must have gone wrong. Was this a common problem? Would it fix itself, or would somebody notice and come to take care of it? Before he could think about it too much more, he heard a whimper from beside him. Coriander turned to see Dragon curling up, tears in his eyes as he looked at up at the lights. Oh no. This, at least, Coriander could help with.

"Hey," he said, kneeling in front of the boy. He reached out a hand, slowly, and set it on Dragon's shoulder. "Do not worry. We are going to be alright. I'm sure in time the elevator will move again, and the doors will open." Coriander gave him a soft smile. "Trust me. My name is Coriander. Can you tell me yours?"

The boy manages to stutter out an answer, and Coriander squeezes his shoulder reassuringly. "Well, Dragon, despite the circumstances, it is nice to meet you. Let's see..." He got back to his feet in one, smooth motion and looked around. There wasn't much to note in the small space... but the phone on the wall certainly seemed important. Coriander stepped over to it and studied the accompanying note. There were numbers listed. People to reach out to for help with the situation? Wonderful!

But there was one problem.

Coriander turned to face Dragon again. "I think we can alert somebody using this," he said, gesturing to the phone. "However, I'm afraid while I've seen phones before, I admit I have never had reason to use one before. Could you... show me how it works?"

Maylu axolotl

Maylu smiled cheerfully as she entered the empty elevator going down, carrying a basket filled with goods. She was going to meet her sister by the lakeshore for a picnic lunch. Maylu couldn't tolerate exercise well, so while her sister carried out her morning jog, she stayed home preparing a meticulous meal for the two to enjoy together afterwards. She made all Lindy's favourites. She couldn't wait to see her face. She couldn't wait to see her -- 'I want to see her so badly' she thought, as she clutched her necklace tightly. And with that thought the elevator slowed to the 4th floor.

Coriander stepped in from the corridor and offered a gentle greeting. But it wasn't returned. In silence, she tightened her grasp on the basket handle and stepped to the side to make room.. but as he moved closer she could sense it for sure.. a thick miasma that gave her a nauseating feeling in her chest. Staggering forward, she made a clumsy attempt to escape but the doors closed promptly once the man dialled in his floor. He gave her a peculiar glance, much deserved, but Maylu continued to stare forward, willing the the descent to pass quickly. She watched the indicator, almost obsessively, as it reached Ground level, but it did not stop. "That's strange.." Coriander softly complained, pressing at the dials once more. Maylu's eyes searched anxiously as the floor indicator continued downwards: basement.. subbasement 1... subbasement 2... subbasement 3... that was the last level but they continued beyond that until the elevator lurched to an abrupt halt, the lights flickering off.

Both in the dark, the only source of light was a dim glow radiating from Coriander's chest. "Are you hurt..?" he began, approaching the frightened girl. "N..no stop." Maylu held up a hand infront of her, waving him away. "Do not worry," he continued, "We'll figure this out. Do not be afraid.. my name is Coriander. You can trust me, I'm here to help." he offered his hand once more. "Don't come near me!!" Maylu screamed, backing away into the corner in an off-balance motion, and the basket toppled to the floor, spilling its contents onto the ground between them. The glowing spirit fell silent, and time seemed to drawl on with nothing in the stagnant air but her inconsolable whimpering. Coriander sighed heavily, stooping for a moment to lift a single pan dulce from the overturned basket and dusting it off. "Do not worry, child," he turned to pick up the phone and held it in an odd manner, "I will set things right before long."

Maylu curled up in the corner while Coriander spoke with the attendant. Her hair grasped in her hands and her eyes shut tightly, she thought only of seeing her sister, and prayed she would not be spirited away by this ghost.
