Answer to a question from the user above

Posted 5 years, 11 months ago (Edited 5 years, 8 months ago) by Caine

Similarly to "answer to the question from the oc above", the idea of this game is to answer to something the user above you asks! I was debating whether to name the thread this or "ask a question to the user below" and got a headache trying to decide which one, but really they are the same thing!

This is not an OC game: this is for users to ask things from other users, similarly to "ask a question to the user above you" but in reverse. Hopefully it'll be a fun way to learn more about the users here & get a chance to talk about something you like!

Rules:

  1. Make sure to claim first! This way you'll avoid getting ninjad by someone faster than you
  2. Your answer can be as long or short as you wish to make it to be! Just use the spoiler marker if you end up writing a lot or including lot of images
  3. Wait for at least 3 people to post after you before claiming again! If 12 hours pass, anyone can reply and/or post a new answer
  4. Keep your questions vague enough that people will have something to answer to them!
Don't ask:
  • any super personal questions, like full name or home town
  • questions of morals such as "what would you do if...". While these can be fun, they can really easily get under people's skin and cause stir and drama, and we're here to have a good time and not fight
  • anything that could be considered even vaguely NSFW or sexual in nature
  • idk just keep it civil and not weird or creepy and you'll be fine

If I see someone asking for too personal things or being rude or behaving strangely I'll privately message them to fix their message. Feel free to also DM me if you see strange or rule-breaking behavior!

Question examples:

Here are some things to maybe give ideas to what kind of things to ask! Feel free to use these or do your own thing, as long as it's following the rules

  • INTERESTS: Favourite movie/book/anything? Hobbies? Strange trivia you know?
  • CHARACTERS: Your most expensive character?
  • CREATIVE: Are you more of an artist or a writer? Your creative influences?
  • STORYTIME: Funniest elementary school memory? Has anything strange ever happened to you?

If the thread has been stuck for +12 hours anyone is free to answer and ask a new question!

i sort of do - like i do and i don't? i'm a skeptic and an not overly superstitious but i do believe that paranormal things do exist to some extent (like i belive in orbs, but not full on ghosts)

as for anything paranormal happening to me... not really... i had a really short and fucked dream where i was tossed down a hallway and it was that real i woke terrified and my body ached like it happened - and i was too paranoid to leave my room at ir past 11pm while my parents were asleep so it didn't 'happen again' - but i don't think a silly nightmare would count as a paranormal experience (my bf has had a lot, however, from what he's told me)

are you a cat person or a dog person? what's ur favourite breed of the one u like most (or both) and do u have any dogs or cats?

To be fair since my parents were everything but interested in picking a career for me, I found myself constantly switching my ideas to the point I found it a fun game to impress adults by having picked up a different career idea every time they asked. I also really wanted to be a dragon or a cat until I was told that's not a realistic career path, unfortunately. I'd pick being a cat over this education and graduation limbo we have going on in Finland right now.

But uhh as a kid I really wanted to have a really well-paid job so I wouldn't have to be as miserable as my parents who have had to work extra their whole life and still living on the poverty line? But nowadays I don't know how possible that is for me because I have gotten pretty badly ill and it has sort of just ruined all my initial plans, really. But I'm playing with the idea of becoming an university teacher on literature or something related, as it's something I enjoy and something I know I could do without getting bored of it.

Would you consider yourself an ambitious person?

The two in the image! They are my pride and joy. I’m developing their story still but I love them, and they may seem generic right now but I’m not done with them just yet. Their story is something I’m proud of in general, but right now I am really happy with them and what I want to do with them.

Do you write in accents/dialects? Ex: I want some vodka would become I vant some wudika in a Russian accent.

RadiantRaindragon

I think that writing in accents/dialects is pretty interesting, but sometimes it gets annoying to read if the character has a particularly heavy accent and you're writing it exactly the way it sounds. (Not to mention it's more time-consuming to write them that way.) However, some of my characters have minor speech quirks that I do write out. Crowley, for instance, has a very casual way of talking and usually says things like "gonna", "somethin'", and "yeah".

So, I don't write the character's accent, but I do write certain words and phrases differently depending on the way they talk.

Question: Do you RP with your characters? Which ones do you normally use in RPs, if yes?

PicklePantry

I used to! Every character I own - except Jey, Terry, and Valentine - all came from RPs I did on Gaiaonline! Each of them were used pretty regularly.
They're still somewhat open for RP, in a way. Their stories are open ended and there are a lot of plot arcs planned for each of them in the case that I ever have the energy to RP with anyone that's interested.

Which character of yours went through the most redesigns - either in looks or story - and how do you feel about where they are currently?

Caine

I think out of all my currently uploaded characters that'd be Daniel. His design has been the exact same since I created him back in early 2014, but since then he has been through a lot of universe hopping and storylines. He started out as a character for my Taros setting where he serves as an angsty backstory to Rowan to explain why he was so brooding in the RP, but then I got super attached to him and started writing flashback scenes about him and Rowan & then kind of brought him to life in this sort of limbo world that had its own storyline and everything. But like in all honesty as much as I loved the limbo world shenanigans I felt like it was a thing of the past and not something I wanted to develop more than that, and so I decided Daniel and Rowan both would do better in another setting entirely!

I don't remember how exactly Daniel ended up being a vampire in Enhyria setting, like I think it was some sort of joke AU at first but then I liked the idea because it let me give Daniel and Rowan super similar roles to their Taros counterparts but explore them further, as Daniel doesn't die in this setting like he did in Taros. He is still severely ill though and it limits his life considerably & ever since I created him I wanted to keep his illness as a crucial part of who he is and I didn't just want to take the cheap way and miracle cure him, because I don't have that kind of luxury in my own life, and I know a lot of other people can't have that either, and I think it's important to portray characters who are chronically ill too.

tl;dr Daniel's design hasn't changed at all and his role in his new worldsetting is super similar to his original one, but he has jumped to another universe entirely and there are tons of little things and tweaks that are totally different and redesigned

Which types of characters do you have the most: adoptables or those you designed yourself?

SuperiorInactive

Personally, adoptable. It’s what I have the most of at the moment because I got a few good ones from a random free game. I am going to be creating a lot more original designs though, seeing as how I can never find good male character designs.

It depends on the character, really! The majority of the time I design a character, then get their personality, but sometimes it’s vice versa! And bonus points for backstories: I usually agonize write backstories after making their personality, but on occasion, I get backstories BEFORE I write personalities haha
