OKAY SO. i have actually been dying to talk about this because there r so many artists that influence me. i think my earliest inspiration was Glider, who is responsible for a lot of mvs for the vocaloid producer, wonderful opportunity.. literally ever since i came upon their art in like. the mid 2000s i was so enthralled. the simple shapes and heavily simplified style really resonated with me
and even now, in their recent works, i truly still aspire to replicate what they have and make it my own because their style is just . too cute and pleasing to the eye AGHH their sense of anatomy, color, cohesion and soft yet edged shading.. ITS EVERYTHING TO ME
i also look up to naoki saito a lot, whos an artist for a lot of nintendo promotional art + pkmn masters + dragalia (which is how i found his works in the first place. rip dragalia btw) he has a lot of the same goals i want to strive and overlaps with glider a lot : dynamic poses and perspective, soft coloring, etc. but with a lot more.. pizzazz (and a bit more detail than glider) i mean look at this
there's also an artist i look up to here (ahem nullmi on toyhouse) and takehito harada and im putting them here as brief mentions bc this is getting embarrassingly lengthy. but yeah i should honestly do more studies and draw more just to strive to be like these artists and capture the simplicity yet intricacies of their art .. its jusg.. woah. EDIT: there's also nerokoro on instagram!! coincidentally enough we have oddly similar ocs but their rendering is also everything to me . its painterly but maintains a cartoonish/cell shaded feel
