"Thank you!" Aaron gratefully and a bit too eagerly takes the potion. He was a college student after all; this was practically a godsend. Even more so since he was practically living off cup noodles and chips at this point to make rent.
"It wasn't like I was going to sleep tonight," he tells himself as twists the potion's cap off. "I have several projects and readings to go through after my shifts at the convenience store and the diner today."
He drinks every drop of the potion and sets the bottle off to the side. He decides to test if it worked so he rummages through his drawstring bag for something to eat. He finds some stale leftover chips he should've thrown away days ago and eats a piece.
It has the exact same gross soggy texture he had expected but the taste that explodes onto his tongue brings him to tears.
He stares at the chips for a moment before he continues slowly eating the chips one by one. By the time he's done only then he realizes that he's crying.
"Sorry," Aaron wiped his tears away, "it's just that...for some reason, they taste exactly like the food my dad used to make."
Aaron hums as he goes through the cupboards in his kitchen. The song is comforting amidst the completely trashed room and the sinister shadow glaring at you from the corner from the room.
"Ah there it is!" Aaron hops down from the stepladder and smiles warmly at you as he puts the bottle down in front of you. "Good thing I had some left!"
The liquid inside looked pitch black tar bubbling and emitting noxious gases but when you blinked its appearance changed completely. It looked exactly how you would imagine a potion to look like and a lot more appealing.
"It's so hard to be likable. No matter how much you be yourself and improve, there's always a part of you that people won't like. But with this," Aaron taps the bottle, "you'll be the person everybody likes. No matter who the person is, they'll love you. Not because you forced them to love you, oh no.
He looks you straight in the eyes. "Once you lock eyes with them, you'll know exactly what kind of person they want. You'll know how to act the way they'd like, talk the way they'd like, and know exactly what they want to hear. You'll be their perfect person," Aaron's pupils swirled and changed shape as he spoke, "and you'll be loved."
