      Novrie approaches Mandragora and skitters around her excitedly. Its many eyes stare at her. Mandragora and her timeline smell like adventure! Novrie loves it. They jump onto her an crawl around, inspecting her clothing and items. Novrie spots a small pouch of coins and chitters. So shiny and tasty looking! Novrie swiftly opens the pouch and gobbles up its contents. It burps and disappears into the shadows…

    Novrie already knew that Derrick was going to trap them. It sat patiently and stared at him with its empty white eyes. After it was finished studying the humanoid, Novrie would disappear. After several minutes, Novrie chewed through the cup and hopped into a portal of darkness. Perhaps the strange creature would appear again to study Derrick..

"What the fuck is that?" Derrick called out as he spied the crawling shadow. He shotgunned his drink, placing the now empty glass over the top of the arachnid. He tapped the glass with his silicone-coated finger before looking around. "Which of you dammed mages is trying to spy on me?! It won't work!" He slid a paper under the glass and carried the spider to another room to look after it, he had to keep his eyes on the spy after all.

Abriel regarded the cyborg with apathy. The child was somewhat annoying with his seemingly constant need to assert himself as superior to the angel. The child was but a blink of an eye in the angel's lifetime and yet he acted as though he was- how did the humans so often put it- "God's gift to mankind," the child was uppity in their opinion. Abriel's lips curled into a sneer as they turned away from the 19 year old. Shame, the "dog" was a remarkable piece of technology, for human standards. They would have loved to study it and see just how far this world had come with its technology, surely quite farther than other worlds considering the cybernetic boy in front of them. 

Abriel noted the small figure staring at them. They sighed, yet another poor soul taken in by the curse of a sin. It was almost pathetic how easily humans fell for such things. Almost... for despite all their uses as food or playthings, and for all their stupidity and ignorance, humans remained one of Abriel's favorite creatures. They felt a twinge of pity. Eventually the prayer muttered by an exhausted Sheol drew them from their pondering.

     Abriel was an angel in every sense of the word. They had divine beauty and infinite wisdom, and yet with an age that rivaled the creation of time, they still cared about every single life there was. There was no flaw in them, their kindness and innocence surpassed the gods and even won the heart of one of the most strict and harsh. Abriel was everyone's dream come true, admired and cherished by those lucky enough to see them.

     NV, on the other hand, was their opposite. Hideous, monstrous, cowardly. They couldn't hold a candle to Abriel, and they knew the minute the angel would turn their head towards them, that kind look would sour into judgemental and disgust. As it should.
     They tugged at the hood of their jacket. If they could, they wanted to take the angel's face. Face, personality, knowledge. They wanted everything. To be a god-- to be more than a god; to be eternally loved. They yearned to know that. But just as Abriel was loving, they were also powerful, and could easily destroy them.

     So NV watched from a distance, envious and bitter.

Veritas looked at Mateus with a cocked eye brow and tapping his foot “while on any other day I’d prolly ask ya for a scrap” Veritas rubbed his bagged eyes as he swat away a swamp mosquito from biting his face “I’m really not feelin it today. So ya wanna come inside, I got some croc meat in the frying pan. Also how the hell are you out here in the swamp with all-“ he gave a quick gesture to his visitor’s attire “ya know what never mind, yer getting lunch”

     "I hear you run a pretty good food truck, and you foster animals! That's very kind of you to do, and undoubtedly hard work! I'd love to support your business and pay for some catering at my next meeting, though you can't listen to your music once you enter the building. Can't risk any innocent children hearing metal."

     "You can't wear mine, but I've got an extra right here you can have!"

The blue mask stood out to Rusty as she bounced up to the tall man. In her human form, she didn't feel as shy to walk up to others. "Oh! Oh hey, one of my friends talked about your company before! GMT? Oh wait no, GTM?" She gave a smile as her eyes lit up with more recognition. "Ah yes! It is you, isn't it! Family friendliness is always cool... Can I try on your mask?"

The Molleron twins examine the lost kitty they just found. Arabella notices the cat’s blue scarf. With the twins’ bond, Vanessa immediately has the same thought without Arabella even saying a word. They notice this cat has a number of interesting things about her. She has that distinctive brown spot and one back leg and the opposite front leg are brown with white paws. She has a similar pattern on her tail. Arabella picks up the cat and tries to comfort her.

Later, the twins get on their Alienware and open Microsoft Word. They begin to make found cat posters, in hopes of finding this kitty’s owner.

    “Hello ladies! Can I interest you two in some baked goods? They’re fresh out of the oven!” He gestures to some warm and assorted baked goods on the counter. “I recommend trying the cupcakes. Their my personal favorite.” He gives them a big smile.
