Chris tried his best to keep a straight face in spite of what was playing in his head. "Ah... I'm sorry to hear that. That earring must have been very valuable. I mean, on the bright side, you could sell the other one if you wanted to - or you could just wear it on it's own, sometimes wearing one earring can look nice."
His hands continued to fidget on their own. "I don't know much about online dating, though. My experience is quite sparse." Really, the only experience he had in that department was when he had Grindr for a week, uninstalling it from his phone immediately once a few bad experiences pushed his social anxiety over the edge, but Chris preferred to keep that to himself. At least he got lucky with his boyfriend.
"I, uh... had to take a break today. Nothing spectacular, really." Chris's foot tapped against the ground, his apprehension telling him to leave his seat - as per usual. "Luckily, all my work was done, so I was able to stay home without any repercussions, for the most part. No one can escape that looming feeling of school and work sneaking up on you... but... Nate made it all better, I think." A slight, fond smile touched his cheeks as thoughts of warm embraces and comfort food sprinkled with love crossed his mind.
"...Sorry. Enough about me - how are you?"
