Plus some other do's and dont's! Because I've been being driven a bit crazy lately seeing people pull some things.
STOP ASKING PEOPLE TO USE FRIENDS AND FAMILY TO GET FULL TRANSACTIONS.
I cannot stress enough, how DANGEROUS that is! You and the person receiving, both get added to each other's contact lists on PayPal. This not only gives you both each other's real names, which doesn't matter as much in my opinion, but you see each other's addresses. You SHOULD NOT let ANYONE on the internet receive that information unless you are getting something shipped to you.
USE PAYPAL INVOICES, OR GOODS AND SERVICES!!
Invoices can protect your identity! However, for the payer, their address can sometimes be given to you. So take this, either use invoices, and ignore their address completely, or just use Goods and Services transfers. This will leak your real name, and the buyers, but you won't be sharing each other's last names. Which is incredibly a lot safer than having those out and about. I have seen people hide their addresses in invoices before that I've sent out?? But personally, I'm not sure how that one's done.
I also need to add, I'm not sure what happened to PayPal's old "premium" service that let you hide your real name. I've seen friends using their online names, and friends without using their online names. So I personally don't know what to do with that one, unless anyone has any information I'm lacking!
Anyway, I'd really like to see ya'll handle this stuff so much safer, the internet ain't a fluffy soft pillow! Have a nice one!
