This is just a weird little thing I wrote to toy with the idea of writing out a sort of "mindscape" thing for telepathic characters.

Cast: Qyii.

Qyii's Battle on Two Fronts

Scenario:

Qyii fights a mysterious stranger in both the real world and a mental battleground.

Qyii faced the shrouded figure, staff in hand. The winter breeze [Fills you with determination! *ahem* too much Undertale] and soft snow favored him, indisputably.

"You cannot avoid conflict forever, my child." The figure spoke in a just barely feminine voice as if it knew everything there was to know about everything that is anything.

The entity tried to reach out at Qyii's consciousness. It was naturally telepathic.

But that doesn't mean that it possesses the stronger will.

Battling a quanix by their own means was just fool hearty. Unless, of course, this person wasn't just acting overconfidently.

Qyii let down his defense and lashed out at the attacker's mind, far better at this than an actual battle.

Qyii stood in front of the representation of the being, shrouded in mysterious clothing, only it's green eyes piercing the veil of its image.

'Fine. Then I will choose what sort of conflict to engage in.'

The false scenery of this mindscape shifted, favoring Qyii. He reached out to control the entities will to fight, to strangle it, snuff it out.

It was represented by a snake of green and black, with glowing jade eyes.

The figure smiled as the serpent showed itself willingly.

'The best of luck fighting on two fronts, my child.'

The being held out its arm, summoning its weapon; a scythe. seems a bit impractical, but okay.

Qyii, in turn, activated his staff, allowing it to spark to life. he caught wind of the being's usage of magic. preparing a spell, it seems. Such actions can not be easily hidden from him. He will just have to act first; he didn't want to, not by any means, but... if its necessary...

He aimed his staff at the opponent, firing a bolt of golden plasma directly at them.

The creature teleported away.

Crap...

...

Qyii knelt onto the ground, facing his attacker. They did not approach. It seems as though they wanted to humiliate him further...

He had but one defense left. A golden gate with countless shifting images carved into it. A key was required. Beyond it was everything. His identity. his will. Once this entity had the key, it would be over. All it had to do was look just a little bit harder, for just a little longer... he could no longer defend it. Just as he had been bested int he physical realm, he would lose here too. It would succeed in its goals, whatever they might be, with only a few secrets lost, and a wounded shoulder.

It stepped forward, to where he knelt on one knee next to the infinite gate.

It shifted through what it had unlocked. The less essential things. The current memories thought processes, and actions.

It smiled cruelly.

Qyii shook his head slightly, muttering something under his breath. He didn't have the strength to complain, or even speak any louder.

"You have lost," it spoke,

'Shahqeer.' The name was painted in a cool brilliant golden, scented by peppermint, carrying with it the emotion of fear, and the desire to fulfill a preset goal.

The lock on the gate glowed, then shattered before the speaker. The golden sheen cracked and vanished, matching the grey of the background. The gate opened.

yet... the figure did nothing more. It left.

The figure's scythe vanished. "The best of luck in your goal," it muttered, turning away.

That's... that's all it wanted? to.... to prove itself? to... best another?

It left no answers.
