Edison

Girl-gone-god disliked finding herself near anything like a city. Too many people, too many chances to (shudder) help someone. Not that they ever actually needed her help - they were just lazy, looking for quick ways to get rich or to get powerful or to get "loved". And also.... she never actually wanted to give her help. She wasn't any soft of magnanimous and never had been, even before she'd slain a beast, found her magic, and, basically, died. She wasn't doing it for them, didn't understand ever doing anything for some "them." It was for herself. Life was so that she could live it, so she could become famous and loved and the only thing anyone cared about. Except, now.... it wasn't. Not since her cursed magic decided to rear it's ugly head and force her to work for people she honestly could say that she didn't care about.

Life wasn't fair.

And now, after being forced to return to the country of her birth, there was ANOTHER monster (how many she had missed in the decades she'd been gone, she didn't care) wandering around, upstaging everybody. If she was the person she'd been before, she'd go off and destroy it and make sure the others trying to fight it never returned home. Now, though... she was tired. Bored of the same old song and dance.

She saw a man, arguing with his hands. That seemed a little more entertaining, but she didn't approach, just watched him. She didn't want to interact... but maybe she was lonely. Or maybe she thought she was, and getting to know him would prove to be the Very Worst Idea. Either way, it might not be boring. (283)
