Edison

Oh. He noticed her. That was disappointing. Not surprising - she did not hide that she had powers, her many-eyed halo on full display even if it wasn't currently dripping onto her stained-gold face. She'd traded in her military gear for black widows weeds, in an attempt to convince people to see her but absolutely leave her alone, and, honestly.... it didn't often work.

Like now.

Apparently, it wasn't just his hands he was playing with, but a gloppy rat that seemed to laugh at him as his attention shifted. Good, he was used to being laughed at, mocked, distracted. That might mean that she couldn't annoy him enough that he'd wish her to leave (which was excessively unfortunate), but it still made her life easier. He spoke, his voice the kind she wished she could use herself - grating, obnoxious, jarring ' and she smiled, toothy and animalistic. An angel who forgot what she's avenging but refused to return to her heavenly nest. She'd rather be run out of town than bored.

"A monster? Well, I know there is one, but they come, and come, and come, and go. There is one now, but it could be so many things. I have seen some, and others, and none. Some have mattered. This one.... does not." She shrugged before reaching to the sky, stretching her spine and rolling her dark eyes. Edison turned her attention back to him, face going sharp, eyes dead but pointed. "And why should you care? You'll just be looking to run away, won't you? You don't look like someone who'd try to fight it, to bravely stand for those unable to stand for themselves." She laughed, the sound surprisingly similar to his own voice. "Go home. Lock yourself away. Play with your rat in the dark, and pretend that you might be safe."
