Epilogue

…And in a quaint elven home, plucking aimlessly at worn strings, a white-plumed kenku thought on her last response to that free-spirited adventurer. ‘...Let me know how it goes…’ but days had passed, and still, no follow-up. She had hoped for the best, for a victory amid countless failures… but had also expected the worst. She couldn’t condone that bird’s actions, but she could immortalize her story in song.

...And deep underground, in a stone room lit by dim candles, gazing at a ring on her finger, a sorrowful Aur’ku reflected on all that had come to pass. That bird too died for her defiance, bringing her allies down with her. She had done all she could to try and help the defiant adventurer; thus, there was no guilt. Only a desire that things could have been... At least a little bit different. A little bit better for her…
There were three diamonds encrusted in her ring; Three wishes to her name. And with the creativity to comprehend the options, and her own voice to make them a reality, the possibilities were staggering. But some things would forever be out of reach, and she found that accepting that fact was the only path to a brighter tomorrow.
