Just a thingy I wanted to write about Red, a small glimpse into his past. This thing will be edited until I decide it's complete.

Red is still an asshole at this time, so that's why he's rather mean in this story! I also have no idea how many chapters this will be. Guess we'll find out together!

Chapter 1

"Red Rabbit"

"Part One - Slow Amethysts, Anxious Rubies, and Tactless Jaspers"

"Facet Cut 56J-ALA, you heard me. Where is my status report," Red barked at the soldier. The bumbling gem standing in front of him shakily looked up from her paper and stuttered, terrified of her boss. "Y-Yes sir, I h-have it r-right here," the soldier trembled. "Well, out with it! I don't have all day, much less for your slow behavior." In front of her, a large gem sat in the captain's seat, his searing eyes burning holes into her head. Were Amethysts always this mentally deficient? Or is it just the newer generations? No matter, their boneheaded nature made them more useful for combat, which is exactly what he needed. Though, speaking with one was usually irritating, they never could keep up with him, let alone anyone else that has a higher status than them.

"Yes s-sir! Sectors Twenty-one and S-Seventy-three of the Fifth Quadrant Planet h-have now been s-secured, almost a-all of the uprisings from the native organics have been q-quelled." Red raised an eyebrow at the gem. "Almost all of them? Disgraceful." Since his underlings couldn't take care of such a simple task, he would do it himself, and remind them all why he was in the captain's seat. Glancing at the gems in the front of the ship, he bellowed out orders. "Facet Cut 91W-BCV and Facet Cut 52G-OXY, take us to Sector Twenty-one of the Fifth Quadrant Planet, now!" The rubies sitting in their seats jolted up from the startling noise, and immediately took them to hyper drive, and within a flash, they were there.

Getting up from his seat, Red stepped over to the large holographic platform in the middle of the front deck, with the stuttering Amethyst following behind him. Swiping his hand up, he brought up a hologram of the planet currently beneath them. "Which sector is Officer Ocean Jasper in?" The soldier looked at her status report once more. "S-Sector Twenty-o-one, sir!" Swiping a hand over a part of the planet and pinching in on it, he zoomed in on the sector. "O-Officer Confetti J-Jasper is in S-Sector Seventy-t-three as well, my captain!" Red glanced over at the Amethyst, who was still quaking in her boots. He snorted, and the gem looked away anxiously. At least the bungling gem finally got the memo and was trying to keep up. Perhaps he'll let her live for today.

Red barked out more orders at the Rubies in the front. "Start warming up the warp pad, I want it ready to go by the time I'm back here! Understand?" The cube headed gems nodded understandingly, and pressed buttons in a hurry. "Facet Cut 56J-ALA." The soldier next to him snapped to attention. "Y-Yes sir?" She gulped nervously. "Tell the Peridot on the second floor to send notifications to both officers of my arrival. Don't tell the officers when I'm arriving. I want them anxious. Go, now!" Nodding, she dashed off to complete his order. Red swiped at the holographic planet again, and zoomed in on the Seventy-third sector, placing both images of each sector side by side. Time to go to what he enjoys the most: causing paralyzing fear in the heart of others. But first, he needed to go fetch his new Red Pearl and his destabilizers. If this was supposed to be a gift from Yellow Diamond, then it had better be one hell of a gift. He didn't take lightly to weak gems, let alone a dainty Pearl.
