Day 2: Kavi

Kavi missed his sister. It was funny, his mouth was fused shut, he couldn't feel his left side, he was pretty sure all the fingers on his right side were broken, and he'd been bleeding from his eye sockets for hours since they'd removed the eyes. Not his eyes. Well, not his original eyes. He's lost track of how many times they'd been swapped out.

And all he wanted was to see his sister.

Teeth, that would require getting his eyes back.

Fine, all he wanted was to be with her, he didn't need his eyes or to be able to walk or fly or move his hand or talk. He just wanted to be with her. He could still hear. He wanted to hear her talk. He wanted her to tell him how things where at home. He just wanted to hear her talk about her day like she used to when they were getting ready for bed. She'd tell him about all the little things he'd missed while he'd been with Father. She was so observant, seeing things that he could never see, even when he'd had his own original eyes.

She'd been the only one who could get him to sleep most of the time. Ever since he'd been old enough to be out of his parents room it had been the two of them together and being apart from her, he just never felt safe enough to rest.

Needless to say, Kavi didn't sleep a lot anymore.

It probably didn't matter. He probably wasn't going to survive much longer anyway. He was fine with that. That meant everything would stop hurting and he was ready. He just wanted his sister before he had to go.

Was she sleeping alright without him? Kavi hoped she was. He hoped she never found out what happened to him and that she was fine for a very long time.
