Summerween Event

Steven pauses, summerween streamers in his paws as he turns his attention to the huffing Gabriel. It confuses him greatly, Gabriel was the one who came and told all of them that they needed to do this so he doesn’t understand why he’s so huffy about it.
He’s tried to ask Good Boy but he just shrugged, explaining he doesn’t know that much about his father figure.
They then went to Pack Animal, who they had to interrupt, it’s pulling a cart of more decorations to another group of Guild pokemon.
“What do you want?” It huffs, though clearly glad of the pause this questioning will give him.
Gabriel shifts on his feet, suddenly very anxious about this, he’s interreacted with them the least out of Gabriel’s friends – but when Gabriel’s there it doesn’t matter so much because if he’s honest he only pays attention to the other man.
“OH right yes, sorry for disturbing you Pack Animal. But I was wondering if you knew why Gabriel’s so huffy?” He asks trying to think his words out carefully, “I mean he suggested this.”
Pack Animal glances over at the sulking team leader and sighs,
“I’ll be open with you, I have no idea Steven. The Ambrosia team leader is a mystery for me. Anyway, I’ll be going again, these pumpkaboo pumpkins won’t put themselves out you know.” She says and Steven nods. Suddenly, he then remembers he’s in the way and jumps to the side, looking a little sheepish, Pack Animal just shakes her head but continues on, pulling the decorations along.

He is intercepted by Good Boy, he bounces onto the back of the cart and grabs one of the pumpkins,
“I’m putting this up here!” The excited child yells, too loud for everyone and they get some stares from the other pokemon around them, however, none are too angry as he is just excited and they can tell that. Steven watches it for a second while he bounces along and then spends far too long trying to get the pumpkin in exactly the right place. Steven honestly can’t tell any difference between the first and second positioning but he’s not going to ruin the child’s time – sure they’ve never had a Summerween before, but Steven still remembers his first Halloween fondly and he wants Good Boy to get those same memories.
However, now it’s time to turn his attention back to his partner and their grumpy team leader – even if he is only an honorary member himself.
“Hey grumpypants!” He’s trying to keep the air light.
Gabriel looks up from the decoration he’s just poking around on the floor, it’s not really helping and he’s not really making him look busy but that is clearly the intent the other ‘mon was going for.
“Steven.” It’s said with an air of distaste, but there’s still that softness he gets in his voice every time he speaks to Steven. This gives Steven hope that this party pooper isn’t completely annoyed with the idea of what’s going on right now.
“Now come, tell me what’s bothering you,” Steven asks, coming to sit down next to him. Gabriel looks up and over too his partner and can’t help but smile as he sees the cobweb that’s stuck onto Steven, making him look like his very own Summerween decoration. However, once he’s realised this is happening, he turns away, trying to hide the expression but it’s too late Steven’s already noticed it and he gently shoves his partner into getting him to talk.
“Ugh, fine it’s just – this was the type of thing I adored doing as a human with the people I cared about. I was exciting when the Guild Master said we’d be doing Summerween it would make the people happier – but I guess it just reminded me too much.” He sighs softly, “So I’m just telling you that I’m sulking basically and I’m sorry if I’m dragging your mood down.” Gabriel gets up onto his feet, patting the dust off of them as well as the decoration he was messing with. “I’ll take this to Pack Animal and head home, get out from under your feet.”
As he walks off Steven’s eyes narrow, he gets where he’s coming from but he also knows this should remain a fun time, even if they are with new friends rather then old ones, so he sets some plans into action.

It wasn’t too hard for the three of them [Steven, Pack Animal & Good Boy] to convince the other Guild teams in the area to take over and allow them to bring a couple of the decorations away with them. They’re going to head back and bring the decorations to Gabriel’s house and they’re going to form new memories together – it’s still within the city so hopefully no one will complain that they’ve borrowed some of the group decorations, well they can always make more if they do.

Gabriel doesn’t know what to expect when the door knocks, he’s been reminiscing again and he knows the others are upset that he’s not joining in with the festivities. It has no idea who this could be, he doubts that they’re going to be the ones ringing the bell, it makes sense if they’re upset with him.
“What?” He swings to door open to be greeted by a grinning Steven & Good Boy, Pack Animal’s stood slightly to the side looking a little awkward. Clearly, they didn’t want to be as involved in this as they are. There’s Halloween decorations visible just behind them, but there’s also decorations on them. A few look deliberately placed but some others don’t, as if there has been a playful fight just before the door was knocked on, and a grin forms on Gabriel’s face.
“Your house is next!” Good Boy declares and bounces forward a string of zubat lights fall from his head as he bounces and Steven winces but Gabriel can’t help but laugh.
Yeah this is going to be chaotic but enjoyable.
