Moving my clan lore here so I don't have to keep bumping it on the FR forums. Feel too guilty doing it that way.

ls4J6ls.png It's an easy question to ponder, looking at the history of the Amitola clan- how did this pair of polar opposites from the darkness of the Tangled Wood end up in the shimmering Starfall Isles? And furthermore, what purpose do they serve now? To answer that question, one must jump forward about a year or so. It was a relatively normal night for the clan's dragons, then called the "Clan of Many Colors"- Noboru and Vanekix working together to keep track of the clan's records from the very top of their Heartwood home, while other dragons came and went as the clan grew and changed. The clan was a home, but it was always in flux. Aside from Noboru and Vanekix, no dragons seemed to stay permanently, or even for very long. That all changed the night that Ciivaesin arrived.

Noboru was working on writing down that day's gathering spoils (so he wouldn't forget them, of course) when he heard a gentle, quiet knock on the door to his room, leading out to a balcony which wound around the tree. It sounded unfamiliar, like the knock of a dragon who wasn't part of the clan. Then again, he couldn't exactly trust his foggy memory. Maybe he'd just forgotten what the other clanmembers' knocks sounded like. Carefully pushing up his glasses, he set down his quill and got down from his seat, walking over to the door and pulling it open. What he was greeted with was...definitely a new dragon, for sure. She was a small, delicate Fae dragon, light red in color, with her dark maroon wings curled gently around her. It looked as if she was carrying something, and the look in her eyes seemed unusually emotional for a Fae. Almost as if...she was pleading for something.

"Excuse me, sir...I don't want to bother you, but...I need help." And she unfurled her wings, revealing a Shadow egg cradled in her arms.

Immediately, Noboru was hit with a wave of shock and empathy. He didn't even know who this dragon was yet, but...gracious, how could he not be concerned? He'd just been met with a tiny, wandering Fae coddling an unhatched infant dragon, looking for help and a place to call home. Morally, he felt there was nothing he could do except say yes. Quietly, he stepped back and gestured toward his bed with his head and tail. The Fae lifted her drooping head-fins and seemed to perk up with happiness. "Oh, thank you so much, kind dragon. I'll be sure to be careful." Quietly, she toddled over to Noboru's bed, carrying the egg in her arms a bit awkwardly. Once she reached the bed, she realized it was a bit tall for her, and Noboru realized as well- so he walked over, picked up the egg, and placed it on the bed, allowing her to jump up onto it uninhibited.

"So what's your name, huh?", Noboru asked.
"Ciivaesin," the Fae replied.
"Oh, that's a nice name! I'm Noboru." He adjusted his glasses, pacing over to his desk. "I'm one of the leaders of this little clan."
Ciivaesin adjusted her fins, lifting one and dropping the other. "One of?"
"Yeah, I run this place with Vanekix. She's a grumpy Mirror."
"Mm. Does she know that you take in dragons like this?"
"Um...well...no, this is the first time I've done something like this, actually. But we have dragons come and go around here all the time! I'm sure she'd be okay with it."
"That's good to hear, I suppose. So you're alright with me keeping watch over this egg while I'm here?"
"Of course! It's no problem at all." He paused for a second. "It does look a little...big for you, though. You sure it's a Fae egg?"
Again she adjusted her fins, giving her a bit of a perplexed look. "...No. I'm not sure. I found the egg on the side of the river, it was just...sitting there, alone. It wasn't even in a nest. I couldn't just...leave it there, so I took it with me."

Noboru frowned. "Oh...that's unfortunate. Well, I'm sure you'll be a better mom to whatever dragon is inside than whoever left them here."
"I hope so." And she curled herself around the egg, and soon, fell asleep, as Noboru returned to his work.

Over the next couple of weeks, Ciivaesin introduced herself to the clan, and slowly settled in as a permanent resident of the Clan of Many Colors. She was a quiet, careful dragon who spoke with a slow, ponderous, thoughtful tongue, taking a moment to think every time she spoke. Most importantly, she had a habit of writing things down and checking up on everyone, most likely picked up from Noboru. So the two began to work together, keeping tabs on everything within the clan, while Vanekix retired to keeping a hawk's eye on the clan's treasure hoard. After the hustle and bustle of the first couple days, things began to settle back into their usual rhythm- but most important to Ciivaesin was that egg. It was getting closer and closer to hatching each day, and she swore that if she peered closely into the egg's glowing blue pods, she could see the hatchling growing inside.

The day that the egg hatched was a day of great excitement for the clanmembers. Normally, when one finds an unhatched egg laying about in a flight's territory, it contains a hatchling of one of the four plentiful breeds- a Tundra, Fae, Mirror, or Guardian. This egg was different. The hatchling within was coated in fluffy feathers, vividly pink in coloration with dark red wings, and shiny, grey jewels glittering along its sides. A Coatl hatchling, and one with quite rare genes, to boot! What a fantastic find! Ciivaesin and Noboru alike were both delighted. Noboru decided his name should be Penk, and Ciivaesin swore that she'd take the closest, kindest care of him that she could. And so, a new, permanent member joined the clan. His name was Penk, and soon he'd be one of the most important dragons in all of the clan.
