Uploading images

To upload an image, you can go about it two ways - either through the top toolbar or directly on the character's page under 'manage images'.

Either way, you'll be directed to the same page, the only difference being that if you upload directly from the character's profile, the character will automatically be added to the image.

Basics:

These are pretty self-explanatory! Here you actually upload the file. Keep in mind that the maximum file size for TH is 4mb! You can also set a caption here - captions do not use html or line breaks. You can also crop the thumbnail here, or upload a custom one.

Characters:

Here you can select the characters to be included in the image!

If you got to the uploader from a character's page, they should already be there. If not, you can click add character to add a character to the image, and can select from either your gallery of characters, or search for other user's characters by searching through username or character ID. You can also choose to set the image's thumbnail as the character's new icon.

Privacies:

These affect who can see the image you're about to upload. You have the option to change how the image will appear to users that are authorized and how your image will appear to the public. There are four options for each;

  • Full-size means they can see the full-resolution image
  • Watermarked means they'll see the watermarked version of the image
  • Thumbnail means they'll just see the thumbnail of the image
  • Hidden means they won't be able to see it at all
You can also change the thumbnail settings here, from either the default thumbnails or a custom preset thumbnail you uploaded.

NSFW settings:

These are important, and mostly self-explanatory. Make sure to select the correct settings when uploading! You can see the rules on what constitutes as what here.

There's a dropdown and 3 checkboxes;

  • Sexual content comes in both mild and explicit variants. Use your best judgement when uploading!
  • Nudity
  • Gore
  • Sensitive content, which when clicked, will open a text box allowing you to enter your own warning.
Artist credits:

Arguably the most important! Crediting your art correctly is extremely important, as you can get your account frozen if you have too much uncredited or improperly credited art. If you created the image yourself, you can skip this. But if you didn't create it, or used a base, make sure to fill this section out.

You can choose to either credit an on-site artist via their TH username, or credit an off-site artist through URL. For offsite credit, you can also set a label.

You can also add artists, so in the case of a collab or base usage, you can properly credit everyone involved. Credit notes also help with this, with various pre-made categories, as well as the option to write your own.
