Member's Roles

Klaus

Klaus was the one to start the smuggling ring. His motives stem from greed and selfishness. He wants to gain status in the world of organised crime, and he wants to get rich doing it. Why stick to political scandals when you can cause mayhem throughout the multiverse?

Klaus is the sole holder of the gangs dreamcatcher. He feels that, due to his size and abilities, him being the one to use it would be most beneficial to the group. Who knows what kind of small, pathetic creature he may turn into while traveling? Why even risk it?

The Ministry of Demons has targeted Klaus, but only he and Fennel are aware of this fact. Spades and Dewey are unaware that the ministry is involved at all. He'd like to keep it that way, as demons tend to fear the ministry. Spades, and Dewey's reactions may cause unwanted conflict.

While Klaus is generally organized and methodical in his ways, his drug habits cause issues every now and then. It's hard to get work done while hallucinating. The gang is aware of this, but none of them dare say anything about it.

Dewey

The second member of the gang, Dewey is a giant wall of meat that serves as a living shield/bodyguard. As well as protecting the gang while out traveling, they also allow Klaus to use their territory as a safe hideout and storage area. People know where Dewey's territory is, and most of them will go out of their way to avoid it. As of now, no one even knows their base of operations lies within.

Dewey's main reason for involvement was entertainment. They aren't smart enough to understand the logistics of the smuggling ring. Concepts like money are just too advanced for Dewey. Instead, they take pleasure in exploring far away lands and enjoying the company of those they'd consider friends.

The major flaw with something like Dewey is their size. When traveling realms, they tend to retain their size in some way or another. Many places just aren't feasible for Dewey to go to. In situations like these, they typically stay behind to guard the gang's hideout.

Fennel

The third to join the gang, Fennel is in charge of anything relating to sociology. Learning laws, customs, languages, etc of any realm Klaus decides to include in his trade routes. This is to keep the gang on the down low. Without Fennel, they may accidentally do something to piss off a realms natives, successfully exposing themselves.

Fennel's loyalty to the gang is always in question. She doesn't want to be a part of this, and Klaus knows this. In order to keep her in line, Klaus has to threaten her. If she decides to bail, he says he'll turn her in to the Ministry of Demons. That's, or he'll abandoned her in some Faraway realm. Being as paranoid as she is, she takes these threats very seriously, even if her intelligence tells her Klaus would never throw away such a valuable team member.

As well as being a translator, Fennel also provides a second shelter for the gang. Her home is used as another hideout. It's convenient, given its location. Her home and Dewey's territory are pretty much at the opposite ends of Mirror Domain. The gang will often go to whichever location is closest, unless they have a reason to go to one in particular.

Spades

Spades was summoned by Klaus in order to help with the business side of things. She often negotiates payments, determines the value of items, and keeps inventory of everything. Spades isn't afraid to take risks, and her luck only aids her in her risk taking. Oftentimes, when a mission is extremely dangerous, Spades will be brought along for good luck.

Her major downfall is her addiction to gambling. Spades often gets herself into trouble at casinos, bringing the gangs actions to attention. She also tends to gamble away the gangs earnings. Because she's the money manager, she usually gets away losing a few thousand dollars. She can just not account for it. Still, Klaus knows what she's doing, and he definitely notices large chunks of money going missing.

Spades luck is used for another thing, too. That's Fennel. You see, when the two are in proximity, Spades' good luck will nullify Fennel's bad luck (and vice versa). This allows Fennel to be more useful in many situations, even is Spades hates the side effects. She'll often complain about Fennel "bringing her bad luck", even though her luck is just returning to a normal state.

Because of her personality quirk, Spades is ALWAYS around someone. She doesn't do solo missions, and she doesn't go off on her own. If she isn't working, she'll usually be found with one of the other gang members. It's most commonly Fennel, as she doesn't do as much field work. If none of the gang is available, she'll find company anywhere she can, which has proved to cause issues in the past. She'd rather be with someone she detests than be alone, after all.
