A Town's Tale

Bright and shiny stars twinkled in the dark almost pitch-black night sky, a cool and relaxing breeze rustled the various colored foliage that could not withstand it's gentle and tender touch in the oddly quiet night. In the darkness that have taken over the land the dark brown haired feline demon sat on the ground near one of the various bushes, his pupils wide from the lack of light but still kept scanning the area as if looking for something. Next to him his tan and cool colored partially mechanical dragon had taken to her usual cat bun shape, her paws tucked nicely underneath herself as her tail swished lazily before she yawned. She was very much used to being up late for adventures, but this was not really an adventure and her young mind grew tired in the nice calm times.

“What are we looking for, nyah?” She finally pipped up and asked, only recalling being told they were here to investigate a spooky thing. It was all the information given to her, not realizing that was all he knew as well aside from some very distressed tales that may or may not come in handy in their search. Right now it was feeling more like a test in patience over anything.

“Something spooky that would scare the town, a creature of some sort has been terrorizing the town. The town went to Kane and then Kane came to me...” He told the feline softly, sighing. His wonderful irrit darling adored this town, it was the closest one to them so they often found themselves there for supplies they could buy. The town was also so kind to them both, and the youngling just simply loved listening to their sometimes over-exaggerated but exciting tales of adventure with their dragons.

Don’t get him wrong, Clover liked the town as well. His own adoration for the town was different though, he adored them in a way that he also wanted to leave them to their own devices if he had that option. It was after all not that small of a town, it has so many different people from different walks of life that could help take care of each other. Surely they didn't need the two riders to assist. Or that was what he thought anyways, they often asked the riders for assistance with many things whenever they came to visit. Be it a more simple request to gather some supplies, a slightly more complicated need for potions as their stock dwindled, or even the just kind of tiresome task of scaring off big bad beasts. The reward was almost always worth the effort they'd have to put in but it still had Clover eh from time to time, just wanting to walk in and do things before fleeing away one again.

"Nyah, that's not that helpful. Don't you know what the spooky looks like? Is it dragoon? Or maybe Hooman? Nyah?" All Clover could do was shrug at her, not sure what to tell the dragon as she knew about as much as he did.

"That's all I know Moo, that's why we're here to watch and see." It was a boring task, once even Clover was boring off. But he also knew his other not giant-sized dragon, aster, would be so huffy and screechy and that might ruin their chance to see this beast in action. Moony looked bored and wasn't happy just waiting, but it was nothing he couldn't fix. Patting his lap, the mechanical ears perked up, the dragon climbing right into the male’s lap without any other questions to the action. Once settled in she curled back up, receiving strokes as Clover's eyes stayed on the small treeline the creature often popped up in from what he was told.

“What do you think it is, nyah?” Moony asked, kneading Clover's leg as she purred up a storm.

“I’m.... not sure, hopefully we’ll see tonight.”
