Nobu Hates The 8th Day
A collection of short fragments from the life of Nobutoshi Mochizuki - and other assorted factoids. Part of a DnD5e campaign that went absolutely nowhere, unfortunately.

Nobu is starting to get actually curious about the Red Naga. Previously it was kinda white noise- sure, whatever, terrorists, why not, had nothing to do with him.. But after having a run-in in the other world with who he assumed to be Dran Ghesara and Iccushra Zexl (though the latter was definitely just a wild guess) ... and they helped them out... It makes you wonder. There has to be some public information about them. So time for some research.
You find some information regarding Dran Ghesara, you are unfortunately unable to find any additional information regarding Zexl however. You're able to find information regarding Dran's forced retirement from the army via an old newspaper archive from 20 years ago, it has a little bit of information regarding his dishonorable discharge and arrest for disobeying orders and apparently causing several other soldier's to start a riot, the archive doesn't go into more details than that.

Nobu already had a doubt regarding local news stations.. Always just seemed like propaganda or advertisements. But.. Still had to stay up to date. Even if most of the 'news' was clearly just nonsense or really unimportant..
That one thing about Kitsune, being regarded as the keepers of information... That seemed to be the one thing that the family kept a hold on. Knowing your enemy. Knowing the information you had to know.. Knowing how to discern important news. Flush it out from the static and white noise.
The Red Naga. Nobu breathed in. None of the families really wanted to touch those 'terrorists'.. Just an association with them could spell trouble. They're too out in the open.
But... they helped the group. Dran Ghesara.. And that other one.. Nobu shook his head. How stupid, he forgot to keep the other name in mind, and now he didn't know for sure. Well, mental note for another time, then. Still. Dran stuck out, so it was a good idea to go after that, maybe there were some links to the other one..
News wise, nothing much to mention. Only some police chase, and then him vanishing from.. prison.. during a power outage..? Hold up, that's actually interesting. That's a note he should remember.
So.. Dran was ex-military, huh.. Well, that explained his skill with the weapon. And according to the news, his apartment was full of firearms.. Hm, not much to go on, except that this news piece also mentions Zexl.. Could that be other one? He was a lizardman..
The family archives also didn't have much on them. There's that terrorist disconnection.. Old information about Dran being a soldier who disobeyed orders.. Was dishonorably discharged.. Caused riots among soldiers.. Not much he could really go on. This Dran fellow wasn't really that.. great.. in person either.
The reasonable one was the lizardman, who Nobu assumed now was Ikku.. Iccu? Sara.. Something Zexl? Mental note to pay more attention if the name ever comes up again..
But it seemed this was all he was gonna learn tonight.

So, today I learned more about Dran.. but it still doesn't really help me connect any dots. Perhaps I'm looking at the wrong angle, but I can't spend too much time researching this either..
