Maybe the whole murder thing would push ppl to want a change of leadership in mixclan. Since there's both a kittypet and stray part of the clan, there are different styles of life in it. Though since the leader Halfstar's an ex warrior they know how to deal with rough life conditions too and take it into account.

One one hand: if halfstar came from glomclan that could open up some problems of some cats are like “oh man you were apart of us come back home!!” And sheepstar could either be
1)surprised and also wanting them to come back cause she wants as many cats as she can have under her leadership
(And also open the possibility of you know, gloomclan being very skeptical of mixclan cause after all a gloomclan cat did die near the border so they could be sus of halfstar not taking the murder of one of their ex clanmates seriously)
2)mad and not wanting them to come back(if we go halfstar was the og deputy before sheepstar) because then Sheepstars leadership could be threatened by them coming back
And that could cause some chaos in gloomclan
OR
If we go that they were in another clan
It can open that sheepstar is furious and believes that the other clan(whoever half came from) is trying to get MORE cats and are just putting up a front that mixclan is just a random made clan and is actually a way for the other clan to surround gloomclan and take over
We could have like more halfstar angst of “i used to be a respectable ()clan cat/deputy” and have to go through if they want to stay leader or go back home but if they go back home then they leave behind all their new friends and family because not everyone wants to join the other clan and so its more like development for halfstar
I guess this could also be plot if they came from gloomclan but lets be real here no one wants to go back to gloomclan once they leave
yeaH no matter what clan they come from I think in the end they wouldn't want to leave Mixclan. Their responsibility as leader and attachment to their clan would 100% outweight the redemption and validation going back could offer
Bc yeah idk if I've mentioned it but my plan for Halfstar's backstory was that they got injured after a though battle and either got left for dead or got lost, then a human found it and rescued it etc. buT like battle against who?? For what reason?? Maybe inter-clan drama or a war or?? who knows

f they're a double agent then that'd give even more to the half thing
