Explicit Violence

You'd left home only a week prior, hastily throwing essentials into a backpack and evacuating. But the one thing you didn't think to pack, water, likely the most important thing, somehow, forgotten. "im going to fucking die out here, alone and helpless" Your thoughts spilling out of your mouth. Rolling your eyes and looking ahead. Nothing but the horizon, no animals, or other crilxoid, no plants, and most regrettably, no water Just sand and the occasional trashy shelter.

Chapter 8

Axon nods in agreeance.
"They're right. If there was one attacking us. There is probably many more following suit... We'd better scram. We already saw how aggressive they are. And I'm not looking to become a zombie and or zombie jerky..."
Aeryn stares off into the near distance as if watching for something and then mumbles,
"Yes. I suppose we should go..." You nod and look up a the sky to see that fireball's position, as, well..you don't exactly have a working clock. It's been a few hours since you woke up. It's early morning, if it's this hot now...who knows how hot it'll be later. You start walking, walking, running. To where? you don't quite know. But Axon and Aeryn quickly follow. This certainly isn't helping the overheating situation. But overheating is better than being zombie food. You're tripping up over yourself and decide it would be best to take off your boots and just leave them. So you skid to a stop and slip them off and throw them aside. Now you can run properly, shoes always bothered you anyway. Plus, it's common knowledge that the legs can withstand much more than the rest of the body can. The legs have a tough exoskeleton whereas the rest of a typical Crilxoid's body is just soft and squishy..similar to those creatures from that planet astronomers discovered before the whole world went to shit, Earth, they called it, at least that's what you can remember. You begin to wonder if it would be possible to escape to this supposed 'Earth'. They said it was similar to Bomiea anyway. You're yanked out of your thoughts when you run into a stone structure. 'where the fuck did that come from?' you think as you peel yourself away from the building and open your eyes, which had squeezed themselves shut on contact with the structure. looking up, you see this structure is a tall building, you look around, you're in a city...how the hell did you get here? you were just in the desert less than five minutes ago! Turning to look behind yourself, you notice, where...where are Axon and Aeryn? Where did they go?! Your mind races, that is, until, you hear the sounds of stifled laughter and someone getting slapped. Your neck snaps toward the direction of the sound and you see Axon struggling to not laugh, as well as Aeryn holding her hand up as if she's about to slap him again.
"G-Good going kid HA! YOU'RE GUNNA FEEL THAT LATE-" Aeryn smacks him again. Right in the face. He pulls in a breath of air and mutters "Alright fine-" Aeryn continues and kicks Axon to the ground, to which he lets out a painted grunt. She rushes over to you and quickly looks you over to make sure you're okay.
"Uf- Yeesh, he's right... you're going to feel that later...But... I don't think it's safe to take cover just yet. Unfortunately, you're going to have to put up with it because...well.."
Aeryn removes the hand she had previously placed on your shoulder and points past the building you had run into. You wait for your eyes to focus. Once they do, you see a hoard of the infected approaching, limbs falling off with each step an individual takes. Out of those limbs, wriggles clumps of parasitic worms. The very monsters that have transformed your coworkers, friends, and family into these mindless zombies.
