Inhabitants
An endless variety of fauna inhabits the world of Enchiron, but its lands are dominated by humanity, its permutations, and its approximations. These six are the sentient, sapient species you're most likely to encounter while traversing this land, and they form the building blocks of each civilization that lives and thrives here. The six are: caelians, of the stars; humans, of the earth; ianthina, of the seas; ignii, of the flames; theriads, of the fauna; and heliamores, of the flora.
Caelians
Caelians
It is said that the first caelians were humans, once. They were the first to ascend the Coronus mountains, and what they found atop the highest peak was glory itself, woven into the stars. The revelation they experienced there changed them, and they sprouted wings that let them dance in the light. That, however, was a very long time ago. In this day and age, the magic is faltering. Children are born with twisted wings, and all live beneath a broken halo.

- Caelians specialize in light magic. The larger, more complete, and more numerous the halos are, the more powerful the magic.
- Halos are not tangible.
- Caelians bleed metallic.
- Very few caelians can fly, or even glide.

Humans
Humans
Before there were humans, there were giants. On massive legs, they strode through the seas to discover... a new paradise? a safe refuge? simply somewhere new? No one remembers anymore, their age has long since faded, but their descendants remain. Curious and exploratory by nature, humanity has stretched its fingers across the continent seeking mysteries and, instead, founded new histories.

- They are equally adaptable to all environments.
- Humans in Enchiron are incredibly diverse in terms of skin color and hair texture.

Ianthina
Ianthina
In the modern day, ianthina are feared: they are the beasts that lurk under the waves and creep in the dark, but this wasn't always the case. Long ago, ianthina used to be victims--human sacrifices chained to rocks waiting for a hungry god--but no more. Their bodies have twisted and changed to withstand the most bitter cold, the darkest depths, and the fiercest storms. They are, have become, and will be survivors.

- Ianthina are amphibious and can breathe in and out of water.
- They specialize in temperature magic, usually for manipulating ice.
- They are covered in glowing spots known as lumens. Their lumens color their blood.
- Their patron beast is the Leviathan.
- They heavily rely on nonverbal communication.
- They can purr.

Ignii
Ignii
Ignii know where true power lies. In their ancient past, the humans they once were scaled the Coronus mountains to seek out the home of the Mother of Dragons. They worshiped at her feet, and her blessing unto them was baptismal fires, scorching away flesh and bone to birth them anew. In her name, they became conquerors, ever striving to become better, better, better, until they too can hold the very heavens in their hands.

- Ignii teeth and claws are hard enough to cleave rock. Even their skin is tougher.
- They have an affinity for fire magic.
- They can withstand extremely high temperatures.
- They squeak when happy or surprised.
- They cannot fly, only glide.
- They require a large number of minerals and heavy metals in their diet.

Theriads
Theriads
To everyone else, theriads are accursed beasts. They are little more than the descendants of scum, of people so hateful that even the World-Eater itself couldn't bear the sight of them. To each other, theriads are family. Their ancestors were blessed by the Life-Bringer, given the power to survive, carry on, and see all the wonders the world has to offer. No matter what happens, they will not squander this gift.

- With tails and mobile ears, theriads are extremely expressive.
