GENERAL

PeatClan, as the name suggests, is located in a peatland bog, with stretches of mire in the center. The constant damp and exposure to cold is a drain on most cats' morale. Rain is common, though it tends to be slightly drier in summer and in winter there are thick layers of slush ice. Small streams run through the hills, diverging from the river that passes by the crag further up north. Ponds are scattered throughout the wetlands, more clustered to the west. To the north, the ground is more rocky and cats on patrol plan their routes to head this way for a rest on dryer rocks. As the ground dries out towards the north and east border, trees can be found growing sparsely. The clan camp is located in an eastern strip of alder trees. Vegetation here mostly consists of grass, moss, lichens, ferns and shrubs.

CAMP

The clan camp is situated near the eastern border, among the alder trees. There is a clearing inside a fairly dense area of trees and bushes.

The rock pile in the center of the clan has a tree growing over it, which also contains a hollow in it above the rocks. The leader lives in this hollow, though it requires a bit of climbing to get into it, keeping kits out. It contains moss as a bedding. New leaders are to print their paw on the trunk near the base with dyes made from berries.

The medicine cat den is found in an old burrow of a fox, under a lone tree's roots growing over a rock pile near center of the clearing. The entrance has been reduced by adding some rocks around it, hopefully preventing foxes from entering. Clan meetings also occur here; the leader and the deputy stand on the rock overlooking the clearing. The leader's den is in a hollow of the tree that the medicine cat is found under.

There is no one warriors' den. Instead, the warriors sleep among the trees at the edge of the clearing, making nests like birds. This keeps their feet dry, offers safety from predators in the open clearing, and allows them to watch the perimeter of the territory even when resting. Each warrior has their own tree and may hang their own belongings in the branches. When a cat dies, their tree is left empty and their possessions go untouched, the rest of the clan is free to mourn under their tree.

The elders reside in a fallen long log on the other side of the medicine cat's rocky mound. It is filled with moss for bedding and a thick growth of ferns cover the entrance, the other end partly blocked off by a growing tree in the dense outskirts of the clearing. Cats can through this end while large predators can't. A decent sized group of warriors rest in the trees above it. The fern end is the main entrance and allows for easy access to the medicine cat. Elders stay in the log as they find it harder to climb trees, but they are welcome to visit their warrior tree whenever they like.
